Marten River Escapes - Glamping cabin.
Description
Our property offers 8 waterfront campsites & a rustic glamping cabin with a shared comfort station. A new 14 unit building IS under construction. You will love our place & the hosts IF you READ the info under "show more" BEFORE finalizing a reservation ! Our listings CLEARLY describe what you will be renting and the amenities provided. Only those with ill informed expectations who failed to read our information were disappointed. We WANT you to enjoy your stay, please be an informed guest! The space This space is a 1 bedroom + sleeping loft rustic "glamping" cabin (tiny home style) unit located on one of our waterfront campsites. It is a bare bones sparsely furnished space great for those who want a camping atmosphere without the hassle of putting up a tent and/or packing a lot of camping gear. This unit, its amenities, and the base price would be comparable to the "roofed accommodations" (such as rustic cabins or yurts) found at Ontario Provincial Parks. Many describe it as cute or quaint. It is not a stand alone cottage with any luxurious bells and whistles. Occupancy: we recommend NO more than 2 adults and 3 children OR 4 adults maximum with the smallest most agile adult(s) occupying the upper sleeping loft. Loft weight is restricted to 350 lbs capacity. Total occupancy is 5 to allow for the children but please do NOT attempt to book this for 5 adults - you will not be happy. Even 4 adults may feel crowded. There is one double bed in the bedroom area which is separated from the main area with a curtain. In the upper loft there are a couple of twin sized mattresses (linens not provided). There is also a twin pull out loveseat in the main area. The loft is accessible by a vertical ladder. It is a great adventure for kids but will also accommodate agile adults. (Maximum height of the loft is 2-1/2 ft - an adult can sit upright but can not stand). Bring sleeping bags or bed linens if you intend to use the loft we do NOT provide linens for the mattresses in the loft. There is electricity but NO running water inside the cabin - a water cooler dispenser is provided inside the cabin. There is also an outdoor water faucet on the site with potable water. A comfort station with flush toilets, sinks, and showers with hot on demand water is nearby. Bring those flash lights and bug spray for an enjoyable stay. The cabin does have a new self contained compost toilet for those late night needs but the unit does emit a constant humming sound. Inside the main area of the cabin there is a makeshift counter, a small fridge with freezer, microwave, coffeemaker, kettle, toaster and electric frying pan. There are USB charging ports in the bedroom area. It is furnished with a small dining table, bench seating, and the twin pull out loveseat. There are NO cooking appliances inside the cabin other than the microwave, toaster and electric frying pan. Bring your own dishes, bbq'ing type cookware, and washing basins/equipment if you plan to prepare meals. Sorry, we no longer supply bath towels in the glamping cabin unless they are specifically requested. Too many previous guests used our nice hotel style white towels as outdoor/beach towels. Please bring your own beach type towels for use outdoors. Outside there is a small deck with a bistro type table and chairs. A small propane BBQ and a butane camp stove are provided which can be used to prepare meals. Propane is NOT provided ! The 1 lb bottles are available for purchase at the convenience counter area in the onsite restaurant. Guest access In addition to the amenities available within the unit and on the site you will also have access to enjoy the common shared areas of the property. Our property boasts 1000' of waterfront surrounded by crown land. We have a new shared dock with Muskoka chairs and a (typical Northern Ontario) swimming area in our semi-secluded bay. We recommend water shoes for those who go swimming and to bring a fishing rod (and fishing license) if you want to give that sport a go. A sunshade pergola was just added to the main dock area with several other seating areas scattered around the property providing relaxing water views and spectacular sunsets, all available for your enjoyment. There is a large open area to enjoy a game of frisbee or other lawn games. We also have a few water toys. A couple of canoes, a kayak, a peddle boat and two small (fishing type) motor boats are available for a small rental FEE. You must have a valid boaters license in order to be able to rent the motor boat. All water equipment renters must sign a renters agreement prior to use. Due to sizing and proper fit, for safety we do recommend guests bring their own life jackets/pfd's but we do have some that can be used. We have a private boat launch and for a small extra fee you can reserve a dedicated boat slip space during your stay for your own personal watercraft. Boats or other water toy equipment are NOT to be left on the shore. A few local public boat launches into different lakes are also nearby. For those powersports enthusiasts (ATV's, SXS etc.) there are 100's of km's of crown land trails accessible from our property. We do NOT rent ATV's. There is space to park ONE vehicle beside the cabin. VERY large trucks will limit the usable outdoor space available on this glamping cabin site. Extra vehicles and/or equipment trailers must park in overflow parking. Other things to note Again, this unit is a BARE BONES "glamourous camping" sparsely furnished unit. There is electricity powering a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, some lighting and USB outlets to charge your phone. There is NO stove or oven. There is NO running water inside the cabin. There is an outdoor water faucet with potable water. We do NOT supply dishes, cookware, or propane. A small BBQ and a butane camp stove are available to be used outside. The BBQ uses the 1 lb green canisters which are available at most Canadian Tire store in Ontario or at the local convenience store up the road. Please note: our property hosts multiple guests at any given time and is located adjacent to the Trans Canada Highway with an onsite restaurant. We are also a recreational powersports (ATV/SXS) friendly place. There IS vehicle traffic noise. Our property is pet friendly. Be sure to take a moment to say hi to our golden retriever who lives on property he's super friendly and loves everyone. Pet the dog or scratch his ears and you'll have a friend for life. Be aware, you may encounter pets off leash chasing balls and sticks or taking a dip in the lake. If you or your companions are terrified of dogs our place may not be the best accommodations for you.
