Charming hamlet home mins to Livingston Manor!
Welcome to our sun-filled home with a magical backyard where two creeks converge! This antique farmhouse is an easy 8-min drive to Livingston Manor, one of the most popular towns in the Catskills. The home is on the sleepy Main St of a hamlet in the midst of revitalization, with creatives and small businesses taking the lead. You can truly unwind and enjoy nature without having to leave the property, stroll the rail trail just a few doors down from the house, or use our tips to explore the area! The space > 1850s Charm Meets Modern Amenities Built in 1850, this home has been renovated to enjoy all of the perks of modern amenities while retaining its original charm. You and your friends or family will love lounging in the open concept main living space, with windows that look out over the backyard, creekside deck and fire pit while enjoying the sound of the babbling stream coming through the windows. The living room includes two full size couches and upholstered ottomans with plenty of space to cozy in and watch something on the 55” Roku TV. There are plenty of free options on the tv or the option for you to log into your own subscription services to catch up on your favorite tv shows and movies. The dining room fits four comfortably for full meals or games at the property during your stay while enjoying the natural light shining in through the windows. The second bedroom is cozier, with a queen size mattress and desk to live your best upstate WFH life. There is a full bathroom with shower/tub and washer/dryer on the main floor and a half bath upstairs across from the primary bedroom. Both bathrooms are stocked with Public Goods products. > Private Backyard surrounded by 2 creeks Outside in the backyard, is your own magical oasis with two creeks that join at the back of the property and twinkle lights to heighten the experience even at night. There’s a Weber propane grill, fire-pit with 2 Adirondack chairs, dining table, hammocks, and outdoor sofa should you want to cook, dine, or relax a bit closer to nature. Parksville, minutes away from Livingston Manor, one of the most popular destinations in the Catskills, is a quiet, up-and-coming hamlet that was mostly abandoned when the highway moved and the nearby resorts of the Borscht Belt era closed. Today, with a recent grant from NY State to revitalize the Main Street and the ongoing presence of Cabernet Franc’s (a restaurant and bar with frequent live music and a lovely mix of locals and visitors) as the keystone business, there are new creative projects and businesses in development like the Parksville Art Center, New Memories (a massive buildings with art studios and occasional events), Double Up (a restaurant in a double decker bus), and B’gawk chicken-themed festival in summer. The home is right on the quiet Main St so you’ll be in a village setting but can truly unwind and enjoy the nature surrounding you — especially the conflux the two creeks — without having to leave the property. > Pet Friendly but Meticulously Cleaned We love to welcome well-behaved dogs, but do ask for an additional $50 fee per pet per stay to help us with additional cleaning and wear and tear - and, of course, would hope you would pick up after your dog as you would at home! We thoroughly wipe down and vacuum all surfaces between rentals to ensure a clean stay for all of our guests. > We look forward to sharing this magical space with you! Guest access Guests have full access to the entire house and backyard of the property. Self check-in to the property with a key code on the front door. Parking for up to 3 cars is available in the drive way. Other things to note Our backyard is rather secluded, but it is not fenced in from the driveway out to the street. While our backyard is not fully fenced in, our four-legged friends love that private space to be out in nature as well so we do have a stake and long lead to screw into the backyard to keep your pup leashed up if needed.
