Barn Apt on Tranquil Historic Farm--Amazing Views

Beautiful, spacious loft-style apartment in barn on historic farm 25 miles northwest of Baltimore. Quiet, lovely, and peaceful, surrounded on all sides by farmland in conservation. Perfect for a relaxing, tranquil getaway, but within easy commute to Baltimore metro area. The space The apartment is the ideal getaway, providing privacy and tranquility. It has great views, looking out onto 100 acres of conserved farmland. The loft-style apartment is spacious and rustic, and is furnished with cozy antiques. The first floor has a large open living room, dining area & kitchen. A wood-burning stove is in the LR, and firewood is readily available at local stores. The modern kitchen has a stainless stove, fridge, and dishwasher -- but no garbage disposal, as we're on a septic system. The main bathroom has recently been upgraded, and contains a stackable W&D for light loads. The living room couch pulls out into a sleeper. The 2nd floor loft area contains a large library for readers. The 3rd floor has a bedroom with antique double bed and 1/2 bath. Bedroom has wall unit AC/heater. **FYI: The bedroom mattress is a new, traditional firm mattress. Those used to the newer-style cushy beds may find it too firm.** Free Wifi is available. There is a large selection of DVD movies, and the Smart TV streams Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, and the Internet (guests must use own accounts for streaming). There is a small balcony outside the kitchen overlooking a walled flower garden, formerly a cattle yard. Birdwatching is fabulous. Guests may walk the 6-acre grounds, where you'll find a huge array of flowers and plants and some old trees of historic proportions, including one of the biggest beech trees in the state. NOTE: This space and our property CANNOT be used for filming, gatherings, parties, or photography. No exceptions. Guest access Guests will have the barn apt to themselves. They are free to roam the property, excepting the farmhouse (where owners live) and closed buildings. Other things to note Not suitable for children under 12. No smoking, no pets. First level is accessible for persons with limited mobility. Second and third floors accessible only by stairs. Heating and air conditioning in the unit have been retrofitted and may not be ideal for those who have low tolerance for cold in the winter or heat in the summer. Be prepared to supplement with ceiling fans and woodburning fireplace. Minimum 2-night stay. Longer stays of up to 1 month are permitted. There are several pets on the property, including dogs and barn cats. Guests are free to pet the animals, but no animals are allowed in the apartment. NOTE: this space, and our property, cannot be used for gatherings, parties, filming, or photography. NO exceptions.
