Relax at this unique place, just 8 miles to Bethel Woods live music venue and the 1969 Woodstock festival historic site and Museum. Appointed with original artwork, the Artful Lodger is a small apartment on a small property set in a former community radio station. Just down the hill is a classic Catskills stream. IMPORTANT - PLS NOTE: To keep costs low, we're a BYO linens place - bring your own sheets, pillow cases, towels. We provide comforters, blankets, pillows. One living-dining area with "kitchenette" (mini-fridge, coffee pot, toaster oven, microwave). Two bedrooms - one Queen bed, one Full bed. One bath (with shower). Day bed / sofa in the living area. Apartment is on the top floor of a bi-level and has its own private entrance. Plenty of parking; guests can park right outside the door. Guests have use of the entire second floor and general outdoor areas. Feel free to roam down to the creek or up to the lake. BYO kayak, canoe, life preservers, fishing equipment, if you are so inclined. Located less than a mile east of the charming Village of Jeffersonville which has everything from a full grocery store to vintage and gift shops to churches, a laundromat, tavern, pizzeria, bistro, public library, gym, indoor archery range, gas station-convenience store and spiffy new bakery/performance space. As noted, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is nearby. Within a 10 to 20 minute drive are the bustling small towns of Livingston Manor, Roscoe and Callicoon - with their restaurants, breweries, shops and world class fly fishing. Park right outside the door. Getting around is best by car. Why it's The Artful Lodger Your country retreat is a great place for anyone, but especially those interested in the fine arts. Paintings include those of abstract expressionists, the late Douglas Craft and Elizabeth Harms. Wall-hung wood sculptures are those of the artist Kevin Gref (also your co-host). A painting by Lucy Sardonia is right at home in bedroom #2, the "Meditation Room."
