Description

Enjoy Lake Michigan and all it has to offer. From our back patio to our private beach it’s exactly 22 steps. Kick off your shoes and have a bonfire right next to the water. If you like the idea of staying at a cabin but one that's not rustic, then you'll enjoy your time here. Whether gazing out onto the water while eating breakfast, watching the sunrise from the couch, or having a glass of wine by the warm, crackling fire (at the beach or inside the house), you’re sure to feel relaxed! The space This spacious cabin is perfect for a romantic couples get away or a fun family vacation. Inside you’ll find an inviting open floor plan. Upon entering, you’ll step into the family room with a large wood burning, stone fireplace. From here you’ll see into the dining room which seats 12 and is surrounded by windows to enjoy the picturesque views of Lake Michigan. The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances as well as essentials such as plates, pots, pans, etc. But more importantly, a wine station as we hope you’ll be able to pick up a bottle or two of vino at one of our many local wineries within Sutton’s Bay. The master suite (king bed with an attached bathroom/shower) is located on the first floor, as well as there’s another bathroom on the main floor. The open, upstairs loft can be accessed immediately upon entering the cabin. In the loft you’ll find 2 full size beds, 1 twin bed, as well as a couch & tv. Don’t worry, even if you choose to sleep upstairs because of it’s nice, ‘hide away’ feeling after a long day, you’ll still see be able to see the stunning views of Lake Michigan with the large window located directly across from the loft. Although this rental is highly desirable in the summer time, it’s also a great getaway in the Fall and Winter months due to its desirable location. We are located on M-22, but don’t pass by us as our cabin is nestled amongst some tall pine trees. Walking out the front door, you can easily walk to downtown Sutton’s Bay (about 1 mile) where you’ll find many unique shops, boutiques, restaurants, and wineries. To get downtown all you have to do is walk across the street (M-22) and take the foot path to access the Leelanau Trail. Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast and love to bike, or just enjoy a leisurely stroll, check out this 17 mile wide, paved trail that connects Suttons’s Bay to downtown Traverse City. Even in the winter months, the trail is groomed by TART (Traverse Area Recreation Trails) volunteers. If you take an excursion and go the full length of the trail you’ll take in everything from farms, ponds, vineyards, and lakes! You’ll have all these fun outdoor options, but remember nothing’s wrong with wanting to stay inside, and curl up with a book by the fire and watch a snow storm come in if that’s more your style. We have three young children and this is our family’s piece of Heaven. It would be selfish not to share it with others, especially when everyone can benefit from a change in scenery during the pandemic. As a wise man (Sydney J. Harris) once said “The time to relax is when you don’t have time for it”. Please feel free to reach out with any questions and we hope you’ll join us for a relaxing stay soon! If you're looking for recommendations on restaurants, stores/boutiques, etc to see while you're in town, please visit the guidebook we created of our favorites during the winter. You don't want to miss some of these during the pandemic (such as the ice shanty village or the Hop Lot's igloo wonderland or snowshoeing through a local vineyard). You can access our winter guidebook by clicking on Alissa's profile picture. You can read more about these favorites as well as see some pictures. Be sure to make reservations ahead of time as some of these are quite popular right now. Other amenities important to note: Parking on site, Wifi, Entertainment (Amazon FireTV sitcks - access to our Netflix & Disney+ subscriptions, & an Amazon Echo with music subscription. As well as cleanings after each guest meet Airbnb's enhanced cleaning protocol during the pandemic. Other things to note We have Amazon FireTV sticks connected to the TVs in the family room and master bedroom. They are usually connected to our Netflix and Disney+ subscriptions. The Amazon Echo in the kitchen also has a music subscription.
