Welcome to Buzzard Oak Barn, a carefully converted stone barn , offering a romantic space, set in a secluded spot on the edge of Exmoor. The barn is bordered by woods, fields and wild areas, which are a haven for birds, butterflies and wildlife. Tucked away, but close to many coastal and country towns and villages. I look forward to welcoming you. The space The Open plan studio style space has a Woodburner and Original oak window cills. The well- equipped kitchen has a fan oven, ceramic hob, mini fridge, kettle, toaster and oak worktop. There is also a 107 litre fridge, with ice box, in the shed. The bedroom area has a double bed, with linens, bedside lockers, bedside lights and bedside sockets, a hair dryer and a hanging area for your clothes. The en-suite bathroom has a large 1.5 metre walk in shower, with Mira Sport shower, loo, basin and heated towel rail. Towels and shampoo, shower gel and soap provided. Wi-fi, Smart tv, electric heating, washing machine and Weber BBQ(bbq coal provided.) Wake up to birdsong and wind in the trees, or at night, star gaze into the dark skies and listen to the owls. Standing on its own, up a private driveway with gated entrance, the barn has its own private parking. Cows, sheep, lambs and rabbits graze in the surrounding fields and owls hoot at night time. The garden has decking, a patio, and grass areas to sit within and relax. Walk straight from your front door onto local bridleways and footpaths. Guest access Buzzard Oak is a detached holiday cottage, set within its own private grounds. It is accessed by our private road, and has its own large parking area next to the barn. There are no other holiday lets on site. The barn sits within an enclosed fenced area. Other things to note I am sorry, we cannot accommodate dogs or pets, due to livestock on the farm. Cows, sheep and lambs graze in the fields. The barn is no smoking. Hinkley Point friendly accommodation, Washford Cross P&R a few minutes away. Working in the area? Message me about longer stays and monthly rental, thank you. There is no sofa, the barn is an open plan studio with a shower room en suite. There are two steps up to the deck, and one step down into the shower room. Logs for the wood burner and a bag of charcoal for the bbq. First fire set up during colder Autumn and Winter evenings. The fridge is a 40l super quiet/silent fridge. There is also a 107 litre fridge with 16 litre ice box in the shed. The track is our private drive, with occasional farm vehicles- you are staying on a working farm - and very occasionally Wessex Water vehicles. After unloading, please park in the large car parking space below the barn. The windows in the main room have blackout solar powered and electric blinds, and blackout curtains. So, you can leave them open and look at the night sky, or you can close them and sit in the firelight. I have put together a booklet with information on local walks, attractions, eating places, shops. There are a few books and a pack of cards for guests to use during their stay.
