Charming Stylish Cottage at Windsor Great Park

Sitting on the fringe of Windsor Great Park, charming and historical Fox Hollow Cottage is a cleverly designed luxurious two-bedroom getaway with a pretty patio garden. Calming natural colours and bespoke interiors maximise the cottage's character and result in a harmonious coming together of old and new. The cottage, which dates back to the reign of Henry VIII, rubs shoulders with a vibrant local country pub, and is a perfect base for exploring the surrounding area or a trip into London. The space Ground Floor: You enter the cottage through the front door which opens up into the open-plan living room, from where you can see all the way through to the light flooded kitchen at the back of the property. A natural palette of warm Farrow & Ball neutrals, sky blues and woodland greens weave their way throughout the cottage, helping to bring the surrounding parkland indoors with you as you check-in to your very own park-side haven. The bespoke interiors have all been thoughtfully designed to modernise and maximise the cottage’s characterful framework and layout, resulting in a harmonious coming together of old and new. Local artwork hangs on the expertly crafted panelled walls and minimalist furnishings are complemented by one-off vintage pieces collected from the owner’s travels. The living room centres around an electric fireplace and then extends past the staircase into a separate TV space with a sofa bed fit for a king. This open plan space continues into the galley-style kitchen and dining area. Think marble kitchen counters, skylights and all the high-spec kitchen appliances you could possibly need. The dining table seats 4 and sits in front of the Crittall-style glass French doors, overlooking the decked out patio garden oasis. You’ll also find a stylish downstairs loo tucked away under the stairs. First Floor: Upstairs, you have the Master Bedroom to your right and a large family bathroom to your left. The Master Bedroom is its very own peaceful sanctuary, with fresh white linens and a statement rattan headboard, all enveloped by striking wisteria mural wallpaper. The family bathroom sings of style and grandeur, with its peachy-pink coated walls, giant pear-shaped bathtub and marble-lined rainfall shower. Second Floor: Follow the stairway around and up the second flight of stairs, where en-route you’ll find a hidden reading nook (with a roll out single bed should you require it). It is here, within the eaves of the cottage, that you’ll find another expertly designed second bedroom — with sage green coated walls and a bed nestled into the alcove underneath the window, so you can gaze up at the park’s ancient oak treetops whilst you doze. Garden: Through the French doors from the kitchen (and separate side door from the TV room) you can access the enclosed patio garden filled with freshly planted blooms. There’s an outdoor dining table and chairs underneath the pergola with overhead lighting for those warmer evenings and suppers under the stars. Guest access The whole space Other things to note Sofa bed/roll out mattress: As well as the two king size bedrooms, Fox Hollow Cottage has a sofa bed in the TV space and a roll out mattress in the reading nook on the 2nd floor. Bedding for these can be provided on request. Bikes: Through the gate at the back of the patio garden, there’s a steel Asgard secure storage space for your bicycles and access to the side pathway (leading back around to the road and front of the house) so you don’t need to bring your bicycles through the house. There’s also a heated outdoor hose to wash down bikes post-cycle. Children: This property welcomes children of all ages but please note that the staircase is extremely steep due to the old framework of the property, and there is no safety gate for toddlers. Dogs: One dog is allowed at the property for an additional fee of £40. Kindly note that dogs are not allowed upstairs or on any of the furniture, and should not be left unattended at the property. Parking: A parking permit for the road outside the front of the property can be arranged for one car for the duration of your stay. If you would like a permit to be arranged, please let the host know the car registration number at last 48 hours in advance of your stay. There is additional pay and display parking roughly 50 meters from the cottage (on Wick Lane) if required for further vehicles.
