Bad Ranchito Idyllwild Mountain Cabin

• 31-night Minimum • 1940's Bad Little Ranch. • Bad Ranchito is just 1 mile from the center of town + lotsa trails. • 5 minute walk from wonderful coffee & breakfast @Alpaca. • You'll be spaciously & comfortably situated in a renovated, super clean & lovingly furnished ground-level cabin w/ large bedroom & separate office. • Bad Ranchito though separate, shares a courtyard w/ a detached second-level loft cabin & 5 chickens in the lower backyard. @TheBadRanchito The space • Within the 900 SF cabin is a new full-kitchen w/ refrigerator, freezer, stove, oven w/ air fryer, nespresso machine + pods, organic pour-over coffee + tea, olive oil, S&P, sugar, large dining table, pots/pans/utensils ++ large comfy sectional sofa, 65” Samsung frame TV, guitar / base / upright piano, wood burning fireplace w/ 1 complimentary bundle & separate office / game library +++ newly renovated bathroom with standing shower, good shower pressure, lots of hot water, natural soaps, hair dryer & 100% cotton towels. • Ideal & spacious for a pair +1 w/ 1 bedroom, 1 office, 1 bathroom, full kitchen, 2 designated courtyard patios w/ firepit & 1 private back deck. • In the bedroom are big windows with lots of sunshine & hemp linen curtains that give light yet are opaque (not blackout, better for circadian rhythm). Lots of hooks for hanging, a cabinet for your things, piano & queen size bed w/ organic Avocado brand mattress. • In the office are board games, books, daybed sofa, table & printer. • In the living room is an open space that connects to the full kitchen, large dining table, large windows w/ courtyard views, bluetooth speakers, outdoor blankets, A/C & heating, fireplace, large sofa, bass & guitar. • The enclosed & private raised back-deck shares a lower yard w/ 5 hens that lay the lovely eggs & love to be visited, given treats & even held. Also a great spot for smoking, morning coffee, afternoon drinks and thank you for not smoking inside the ranchito! <3 • Shared front courtyard w/ an upper-level guesthouse cabin across the way, the “Chicken ‘Chito” & includes two patios & a propane firepit. • Good wifi -- strong enough for zoom meetings & most all work from home needs as well as general cellphone service being available throughout the neighborhood. • Bad Ranchito is designed with quality and natural materials in mind to compliment the essence of nature. Inside, you'll find elements of oak (dining table), hickory (floors), marble (bathroom floors), brick/tiles/stucco, brass (light fixtures), organic rubber & cotton (mattress), hemp (curtains), cotton (bedding), copper (piping), etc. • We are located within Idyllwild central in a quiet, safe, forest-y neighborhood but not fully remote in the woods. •The entrance is within an enclosed courtyard w/ carport courtyard entrance surveyed by 1 motion sensor *ring* camera + light. The carport camera solely monitors the carport + partial courtyard. The other 1 backyard *ring* camera monitors the chicken coop but the private back deck is out of view. • Everything is sanitized between guests & we provide Seventh Generation disinfectant wipes during your stay--please do not flush. ***Traveling w/ another pair? You can rent Casita Ranchita a Mountain Loft Studio across the courtyard!*** Guest access • Everything is within 2-10 minute driving distance from Bad Ranchito whether you're going as close as the Town Center or a hop skip farther to The Nature Center in Pine Cove. We are within walking distance from some of our favorite spots such as Alpaca Coffee + breakfast & Manzanita Cantina Grill which is our favorite late night (9-midnight) spot to play pool & overrun the juke box. The best place to catch the SUNSET for locals is @ The Point which is within the neighborhood. Also within the neighborhoods are some cool hiking, mountain biking trails & off-roading @ The Hub. Unless you're an ambitious walker, we recommend driving to both spots! **Adventure Forest Pass included in the Casita for National Forest Parking, please remember to leave behind for other guests.** • There is 1 designated covered parking spot under the car port of the property & good street parking as well. Covered parking is pretty helpful for the winter seasons so you don't have to dig your car out of the snow. • Idyllwild is located in the San Jacinto mountains with Palm Desert, Temecula, Hemet & Joshua Tree all within 1 hour in any which scenic direction of the mountain. The San Jacinto Mountains are home to a number of Indian Reservations, the awesome Lake Hemet, Lake Fulmor, Hurkey Creek, Pacific Crest Trail, Lily Rock, Tahquitz Peak & endless trails. Other things to note Our rural landscape & the Ranchito chickens are unfortunately not well suited for children or pets. The yard is un-landscaped & wild with native trees which is not suitable for children to run around, so please be extra careful with children. *SNOW*: Snow possible November-April. The streets are all promptly plowed after snowfall, so an AWD/4WD is recommended in snow, otherwise all other vehicles fair well to our very accessible location. During snow season, it is safe to keep chains in the car (if you don't have AWD/4WD), but there are usually only a couple days a season where you will actually need to put the chains on which would occur while driving in the middle of a snow storm which is somewhat rare, but possible. We also recommend boots/shoes with traction during the snow season as it gets icey around the property & town in between snow & rain, so please always drive mindfully & walk gently + firmly :)
