It is the perfect location for couples looking to spend some time away. The space To avoid any confusion, potential guests should thoroughly read ALL information below before requesting to book. (We promise that the info below will better prepare you for your trip and answer 99% of your questions!) Thank you! The 2 bedroom 1 bathroom top level apartment has been completely renovated and is a standalone living space (no adjacent apartments) that features an open floor plan with kitchen, dining, and living area. It is a second story living space that is situated over a cute cafe serving nutritional drinks. The bedrooms are on separate ends with the kitchen/living room in between. The master has a queen size bed with 3 pillows and the second bedroom has a full bed with 2 pillows. Up to 4 guests can be accommodated. For your use: --The rental includes a washer/dryer with detergent, bleach, and dryer sheets. --A Keurig and K-cups. --Kitchen with fridge/freezer, full stove, microwave, new cookware, pots, pans, cookie sheets, cutting boards, and toaster. --Plates, cups, wine glasses, silverware, children's dinnerware, utensils, and paper towels. --Cooking spray, olive oil, salt, pepper, seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and sugar. --Ironing board, iron, hair dryer, vacuum, clothes hangers. --Several board games, poker chips, and cards. --On-street parking access in front of the rental (*of note: during lunchtime hours the spaces can get busy from patrons visiting Pizza Villa, across the street). --Three flat screen smart TV's (Living room and each bedroom) with the ability to log in to your personal Netflix, Prime Video, etc. accounts. --WiFi access. - THE AREA - WINE TRAIL The Shawnee Hills Wine Trail is an unique partnership including 11 local vineyards and wineries in southern Illinois. Starview Vineyards, Alto Vineyards, and Owl Creek Vineyards are the closest wineries, but a beautiful drive will take you to many more. There are several shuttle companies that offer a carefree way to experience the wine trail, including pickup and drop off service right from The Nook. Starview Vineyards: 15 mins Owl Creek Vineyard: 15 mins Alto Vineyard: 15 mins Peachbarn Winery: 15 mins Von Jakob Vineyard: 18 mins Feather Hills Vineyard: 20 mins Blue Sky Vineyard: 23 mins HIKING Giant City State Park, La Rue Pine Hills/Snake Road, Bald Knob Cross, and Tunnel Hill all provide options for beautiful hikes within 15-20 minutes. If you go to Giant City to hike we highly recommend visiting the gift shop and eating at the Lodge. Garden of the Gods, Ferne Clyffe, Rim Rock, and Little Grand Canyon provide additional options that are 30 mins – 1hr away. HUNTING There are ample deer, turkey, and waterfowl hunting opportunities in this southern Illinois region. The Shawnee National Forest, Trail of Tears State Forest, and many other public lands are within a 20 minute drive. We are happy to provide additional information if you need. LAKES There are numerous options for water activities in the area. However, due to prior disrespectful renters and property damage, we will only be accepting booking requests from: --AirBnB users who are "verified" and who already have positive reviews from other hosts. --Renters that are above the age of 25. --Renters who are not bringing pets. --A maximum of 5 guests per reservation. (A fifth guest will need to bring a blowup type mattress) --Renters who are not throwing gatherings/events. (We do have a ring camera installed at the front door.) We value our relationship with our neighbors, so events/gatherings/parties are not to be held by guests. In order to keep the home in excellent condition for future guests, we are firm on these rules. We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. ***Note that if you are bringing infants/babies, the house is NOT baby-proofed. (Furniture is not secured to walls, outlet blockers are not included, cabinets/drawers are not locked, etc.) We also do not have a pack and play/portable crib, so guests will need to bring their own and are solely responsible for keeping a close eye on children.*** - CHECK-IN INFO - --Guests who book will receive detailed check-in instructions and a key code for entry prior to their scheduled arrival. All of this will be communicated through AirBnB messenger. --Check-in is after 4 p.m.; guests must check out by 10 a.m. so that we can clean/prepare for our next renters before they arrive. (Note: We will try to accommodate early arrival/late check out requests, but often times, the cleaning crew requires the full time between guests if we have back-to-back bookings.) --Our cancellation policy is moderate.
