Our little peninsula has been a Northwoods getaway for the past century. Formerly Mallard Point Resort, we're keeping the tradition alive by welcoming guests at two of our cozy cabins. Enjoy exploring the many nearby trails, paddling Prairie Lake, or just enjoying the lake views. This is the kind of place where you can expect to see other guests and share outdoor spaces. We're less than 10 minutes from downtown and 20 minutes from Tioga MTB trails. This listing is for Cabin 2 only. Cabin 2 has natural wood finishes, an open living and dining space, and a kitchen and bathroom stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay. ⇸ High ceilings with large windows that face south for views of the lake and lots of natural light. ⇸ Gas range and kitchen stocked with all the essentials- cookware, dishes, coffee, soaps, towels, etc. ⇸ Loft with a quality king-sized bed and ground floor bedroom with two twin beds. ⇸ Fully winterized with a gas fireplace. ⇸ We allow families of 5 if you have a child in a travel crib. ⇸ Fast WiFi - 250mb up/down What We Love About It We love the access to the lake, it's so easy to get out paddling, fishing, sailing, snowshoeing, or just take in the views from an Adirondack chair. You can expect to see other guests or our family enjoying the beach, grilling out, or fishing on the dock. You'll also likely see otters, beavers, loons, and eagles just outside your door. Prairie Lake is quiet and has little boat traffic and a picturesque gorge at the southern end. The water is shallow and gradual along our little sand beach for small children to play. Cabin 2 is one of two guest houses for rent on this private peninsula, in addition to the owner's home. Each cabin has its own fire pit on the lake side but other outdoor spaces are shared. It's a like a tiny resort, you're welcome anywhere on the property and expected to respect other guests. We like to enjoy the lake and getting outdoors as well, so if you are out and about there's a chance we'll cross paths. You may request it in advance if you prefer. Pet Policy ⇸ Please include your pet on your reservation so the pet fee is automatically added. ⇸ You are responsible for your dog while they are off-leash. ⇸ Bring towels for wet paws and fur. ⇸ Clean up after your dog outdoors. Our pet fee helps us remain pet friendly, however, it does not cover pet damage. Please be mindful of this if you have a heavily shedding breed, let your dog on furniture, or leave your dog uncrated while you're away.
