Cozy, heritage, magical farmhouse 7 min from Wakefield nestled within rolling pastures & forests. Our farmhouse is perfect 4 relaxing, hiking , Xcountry skiing, snowshoeing & swimming. Nearby are downhill ski resorts, the Gatineau river/park w gorgeous beaches & trails. Delicious farm fresh self serve breakfast included (placed on site before your arrival!) The space Our farmhouse is tucked away just past the village of Wakefield so it's very secluded and private from neighbour's. A self serve farm fresh breakfast will be available. We are very private people but are happy to answer any questions you may have through text or over the phone & look forward to giving you a warm welcome if we happen to see you. Likewise we enjoy giving our guests their privacy so they can enjoy the farmhouse and surroundings undisturbed. Guest access There's plenty of parking in front of the farmhouse and along the side (please keep the driveway unblocked so we can drive through. Behind the farmhouse are several buildings are barns that are private and we ask that any walks or explorations of the surrounding countryside you may feel inspired to take are done either on the gorgeous roadsides that are up-kept starting at the front of the property or the groomed trails in and around Wakefield. See maps in welcome folder. There's a lot of wildlife around the surrounding farmlands and ungroomed trails are not safe to walk. Because there's little to no traffic bears, coyotes, wolves and yes we've even seen cougars (but not for over 10 years) are often present so we respectfully ask that you stick to public trails. Over the years we've had many different animals but due to a recent illness at this time we only have chickens however our neighbours have turkeys, cows and sheep and are just a short walk away. We are excited to be getting cows in the near future. Other things to note If you’d like to invite guests/family for the day it's fine with us ~ please let us know in advance & we ask that if it's more than 4 you contact us to discuss the details. We also ask that all guests leave by 9pm unless express permission is given in advance. If your having a special event like a birthday etc. please contact me to discuss details. If you have guests who wish to stay longer or over night that you haven’t previously accounted for (which happens often) it’s easy to add to the booking & I’m happy to send an adjustment through the app. We do have cameras outside on site. Your honesty concerning the amount of guests staying overnight is very much appreciated. We have the fastest internet in Canada :) Cell reception works well in most areas of the farm & farmhouse but can be spotty. We are happy to host our farmhouse & farm for your pets however we do have a limit of 3 pets (we sometimes make exceptions particularly for smaller pets.) If your pets cause any damage we will ask that you compensate us so we can replace/repair any items affected. We provide single mattresses (we have 7) which can be placed in which ever rooms you prefer. We designed the farmhouse family room to accommodate our elderly parents visiting so the couch is quite comfortable to sleep on (one cushion on the single couch, in fact it’s so comfortable I often sleep on it) and it’s easy to walk to the bathroom. Camping outside is allowed upon request as well. There is a separate entrance to the family room & private bathroom with double doors that can be closed off from the main part of the house.
