Gorgeous thatched cottage & gardens nr Lyme Regis

Unique characterful 500 year old thatched cottage, beautifully presented, nestling in a peaceful hamlet set in the rolling countryside of East Devon and West Dorset. A short distance to the Jurassic coastal villages of Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Beer & Branscombe, and market towns of Bridport and Honiton. Rose garden, meadow, lawned garden, dining and reclining furniture to enjoy the westerly sunset & views over the valley. Perfect for couples, young families & teenage children and small groups. The space The cottage is immaculately presented, warm, stylish and comfortable. The front door leads into an entrance lobby with separate utility and downstairs cloakroom, then into the kitchen with an aga (turned off in the hot summer months of June - August), hob and oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave and washing machine. Well stocked with crockery, glasses, pots and pans, serving dishes, bakeware, etc. There is a lounge with two sofas, TV & DVD player, wifi and woodburner. The downstairs bedroom has a king size bed, desk and chair, small cupboard, large chest of drawers, with doors onto a gravelled patio at the front of the cottage. There is a short steep-ish flight of stairs with handrail and banisters leading to the first floor. As this is in the loft the ceilings are sloping in the corners. Small airing cupboard for drying clothes. A family bedroom with double and single beds, chest of drawers, cupboards and small desk and chair. Family bathroom has bath with shower over, sink and loo. Ensuite bathroom with shower, basin and loo leads to third bedroom with double bed, chest of drawers and cupboard. All bedlinen and towels (except beach towels) provided. We provide washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, hand soap, tea towels, dishcloth, loo rolls, cleaning products. Let yourself in from 4pm on arrival using keysafe by front door, departure time 10am. Parking for two large vehicles on gravelled area in front of cottage, if more than two vehicles, parking is available a few minutes walk away. Professionally cleaned between guests. Guest access Guests can enjoy the cottage and gardens extending to over half an acre, including a separate games room with table tennis table and a summer house with toys for younger children. Patio with tables and chairs just outside the front door plus a further set in front of the summer house, and in other spots around the garden including in the meadow with great views over the valley. Please note the garden is on different levels with steps in some places. Other things to note The cottage was originally two separate dwellings, as you walk through from the front door there is a step down into the kitchen, a further step down into the lounge and two steps down into the downstairs bedroom. We point this out so that guests with mobility problems are aware of the steps on the ground floor, and the main staircase is a short steep flight. As the cottage has a thatched roof we don't provide a barbecue and ask guests not to use one. Portable barbecues can be used on the local beaches. We are happy to host well-behaved dogs but maximum two, we provide doggie blankets for the sofas. We request that guests don't charge electric vehicles at the cottage but use the public charging points - details are available in the cottage guidebook.
