Description

PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE BOOKING. St. Swithins Cottage is the original and best "Sophisticated Hen Party" venue from 2010! Priced for 10 persons for a weekend but can accommodate significantly more. Situated betwixt Windsor, Ascot & Henley-on-Thames and surrounded by idyllic countryside / footpaths leading to a vineyard / bar and if that's too far then the village pub is at the end of the drive! So come on, have fun, relax, dine & dance whilst sharing all those marvellous old memories. The space St. Swithins Cottage is 100 metres to the left down the private gravel drive immediately facing the black entrance door to The Green Man PH on Hinton Road. St. Swithins Cottage is NOT St. Swithins House which is at the top of the drive! Many, many groups, especially Sophisticated Hen Parties, have been entertained over the years at St. Swithins Cottage. Whilst my favoured market is that of, what I term, "The Sophisticated Hen Party" I am also amenable to the odd "Mature and Respectful Stag Party"! By mature I mean over 30's please. Both groups have a plethora of daytime activities around the area to enjoy and make your weekend memorable. However right on the doorstep you have an ancient Brakspear village pub "The Green Man", literally, at end of my private drive; with Stanlake Vineyard a glorious 30 minute walk across the country footpaths over the adjoining fields you have the option of a fantastic wine tour ; then there's the brand new concept of Frisbee Golf at Dinton Pastures, just 2 miles away, if you're feeling a bit sporty; and, finally, for those more energetic there is a brilliant "Delta Force Paintball" facility in Great Hazes Wood 3.6 miles away. So lots of options to entertain you. The property has a base rate for 10 persons for 2 nights or more. Thereafter I charge each additional person at £85 per head per night. If you intend to have "Day Guests", who are not staying over, they are charged extra at £25 per head payable in cash on the day of arrival. Similarly, if you intend to have "Evening Guests", who are not staying over, they are charged extra at £15 per head payable in cash on the day of arrival. In both circumstances it is essential that you communicate these requirements in advance with me so that we can determine whether your planned numbers are feasible. With regards to the sleeping arrangements the cottage has an initial natural capacity of sleeping eleven due to the five double beds and one single bed, already, in situ. and the cottage is priced based on these eleven "bed spaces" being utilised first before moving onto additional sleeping requirements involving mattresses and the like. I use the number five due to the fact that there are up to five, potential, "bed spaces" being lost from the five double beds. Sometimes, quite understandably, people will not, necessarily, want to sleep in the same bed and whilst that, potential, requirement can be accommodated for it does entail up to five additional mattresses and linen out of storage with all the associated laundry fees. Therefore, if you do not want to sleep two to a double bed and you want to use the extra mattresses, I charge them out at £45 each for the weekend payable in cash on the day of arrival. If you intend to use any third-party suppliers, please ensure that they contact me in advance by email to discuss insurance, practicalities, logistics, etc. This truly characterful period property dating, in some parts, to approaching 500 years old and mentioned in the Hurst District Plan as being of architectural and historic interest, is a pure haven of tranquillity. It offers the most superb range of facilities along with those very special "Quintessential" English village pubs, just a stone's throw away, to relax in after a long hard day! The property, themed on a Scottish "Hunting Lodge", is a sumptuous yet quirky retreat which will welcome the sophisticated weary traveller or exhausted business professional with open arms. Throughout the property ancient warrior artefacts abound none less so than in the imposing stairwell where you can just imagine taking on the Scots headed by William Wallace at Bannockburn. Guest access You get the whole house and all that goes with it.
