Whether you're coming for a romantic retreat, family getaway, or a solo sanctuary, this charming haven offers a wonderful blend of comfort and serenity. Enjoy stunning sunsets from the hot tub, cozy up by the firepit on the patio, or simply unwind indoors in comfort. This retreat is ideally located in the heart of Illinois Amish country and near Lake Shelbyville. The space The Space Step through the front door and be greeted by an open and inviting floor plan, complemented by a modern farmhouse decor. The spacious dining and kitchen area includes a farmhouse table (which expands to seat 12), an island, and a coffee bar, making it perfect for small retreats, family meals, or intimate getaways. The kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator with a drink dispenser and ice maker, a dishwasher, a convection oven/range, and a microwave. All necessary utensils, glasses, and cookware are provided for your convenience, along with complimentary coffee for your morning brew from the regular or Keurig coffee maker. The kitchen seamlessly flows into the cozy living room, where you can relax on a large sofa and dual reclining loveseat to enjoy a movie on the 50" smart TV. For added comfort, there’s an electric fireplace, perfect for chilly evenings. The two main bedrooms each feature a comfortable queen-size bed, thoughtfully placed charging ports on both sides, and spacious closets for easy storage during your stay. The third bedroom offers two extra-long twin beds, well-suited for adults. These can be arranged separately or combined into a larger bed, allowing flexibility for couples, friends, or family members sharing the space. 2 Full Bathrooms The full baths are equipped with spacious walk-in showers with glass doors and plenty of plush towels for everyone to enjoy. Outdoor Patio Area The outdoor patio is a highlight of this retreat, with a firepit for cozy evenings, a table and chairs under a pergola with string lights, and a charcoal grill for grilling enthusiasts. Charcoal and wood are provided, so you can easily prepare a delicious meal while enjoying the peaceful surroundings. After dinner, unwind in the hot tub while gazing at the stars, or simply relax as the sounds of the countryside lull you into serenity. A fence around the hot tub area offers a bit of privacy and a wind break. You may even hear the clip-clop of a Amish horse and buggy or a distant train whistle. Location & Privacy Although Prairieview Cottage Retreat is situated along a main highway, it is set far enough back from the road to ensure peace and privacy, shielded from traffic noise. You’ll be surrounded by grain and hay fields, with access to a small pond. At night, you’ll enjoy the natural symphony of insects, bullfrogs, and owls. The owners live on the property but are a distance away, allowing you to enjoy your own private space. Please Note: Absolutely NO smoking or vaping is allowed inside the cottage. A $50 fee will be charged for violations of this policy. Guest access Guests have exclusive access to the entire area surrounding the cottage. The owners reside in the white house north of the cottage, and there is also a cabin across the driveway that may have guests. Please be mindful of their privacy. Feel free to go fishing in the pond or take a walk around it. If you're bringing pets, kindly ensure you clean up after them. Thank you!
