Get out in nature, and stay in comfort! Private waterfront, large cabin raised in the trees outside Carriere, MS, sleeps 8. Dog friendly. Amazing views from a wrap-around deck overlooking a white sandy creek in a forest setting. Trail to your own PRIVATE sandy beach. Grill, fireplace, and firepit, games for the family ready to go. Secluded, perfect getaway to recharge in the sounds of nature. Just an hour from New Orleans! The space The house is raised like a treehouse with wraparound decks and dramatic views over the water. The property is on several acres that are exclusively yours. Capable of sleeping up to 8 guests total. On the main floor of the house, which is up one flight of stairs, there is one bedroom with a king bed, and a large private office attached. The kitchen and living room/dining table are one big room, so that you can chat and be together during meal prep. This floor also has a laundry room, and one bathroom with shower (2nd bath with tub upstairs). The living room opens up onto massive, 360-degree decks, including 600 sq. feet of waterfront deck space with incredible views. On the 2nd floor of living space, you'll find a private bedroom with a queen bed and work desk, an open loft bedroom with a queen bed and view over the creek, and an adjacent open loft space with a full bed, and two twin beds. On this floor, there is a bathroom with tub (no shower- there is a shower in the downstairs bathroom). There is dining space both inside and on the deck. There is a grill with complimentary propane available for your use. Internet is high-speed fiber optic and very solid, with extenders delivering connectivity throughout the house and outdoor living areas. There is a TV in the living room with Roku to stream your favorite services. Outside, you'll find acres of peaceful land and a trailhead down to your private, secluded, white sandy creek beaches. You see no other buildings from the creek, just wild nature. Come back to the house and wash the sand off your feet, grab a cool drink and enjoy the evening breeze on the deck as you grill for dinner, play games in the living room, or sit by the fire and listen to the sounds of nature around you. It's a perfect retreat for couples, friends, or families with older children. Please note there is a small per-person charge for larger groups ($10/person/night). The correct number of guests must be entered when booking. Unregistered guests are not allowed on the property. The house is on the water's edge, but the private trail to the creek beach takes a couple of minutes to walk. There are a couple of steep parts to the trail, which may not be suitable for those with mobility concerns. The house also requires climbing stairs. The house has central A/C and heat, and the main two bedrooms each have an additional, dedicated window A/C for personalized comfort. You also have your own washer and dryer, especially helpful for visits to the creek and for longer stays. We are dog-friendly, but please message host BEFORE booking if you are considering bringing a dog. Note there is a small pet fee, and there are cautions to take with your pet in these surroundings. Guest access You will have the property and house to yourself. There is a trail to two large sandbars that are also yours exclusively. The creek is usually on the lower side, with a beautiful, white sandy bottom and sandbars exposed. Kayaking is possible a majority of days (see photos for example), but know that the creek is constantly in flux and may be high or low at any time through the year. If the water rises significantly, it is not safe to enter. Please be prepared for this possibility when you book. Typically the water only rises briefly, as in a few hours, but can last a day or more on occasion. But no matter, the cabin is always an amazing, cozy, and relaxing getaway in an incredible natural setting. Other things to note The house is in a wild setting on a creek. You must be aware that this is not a controlled environment, and it is not possible for your host to control the presence of wild animals. There are VENOMOUS SNAKES (including rattlesnakes, cottonmouths, and copperheads), spiders, fire ants, wasps, and all sorts of creepy crawlies. Every member of your group must accept personal responsibility to maintain awareness of surroundings and watch your steps whether by the water or by your car, etc. You must also maintain control of your pets at all times. You bring your dog at your and their own risk. Dogs should never be left outside unattended. The trail to the creek is rustic, uneven, and may contain rough sticks, plants with thorns, spider webs, and more. You should wear protective shoes, and bring water shoes to change into at the creek. We strongly recommend trip insurance, to cover both travel interruptions and health emergencies, to every guest. We never travel without it ourselves and it has saved us!
