Private, yet only a two minutes walk to the main street, village park, Grafton Tavern, the general store and churches. The home is in superb condition, maintaining much of its original character yet providing all the comforts and conveniences you would expect from today's dwellings - thanks to the meticulous update undertaken continuously. A steeple high attached barn, which once served as the grain room and firewood storage, welcomes you into the home, and also serves as our mudroom and Gallery. The high ceiling and rustic barnwood interiors are classic farmhouse style. Next to the grain room is our richly appointed library cum bar, with floor to ceiling wood panels, rumford fireplace, comfortable leather seating and, just a great setting to relax in, day or night. Oversized wall to wall window lets plenty of sunlight to stream in, making it a great place to read. The huge living cum dining room offers another fireplace and plenty of space. There is a substantial music library available, together with a vintage and rare HIFI music system for enjoyment of guests; please note that the turntable is NOT for guest use. Attached to the living room is the sunroom, with its own breakfast nook table for four and a seating area. This space is excellent for enjoying summers and is fully wire-meshed for protection from bugs. The sunrooms has french doors opening to a cozy stone patio with beautiful arbor covered with wisteria, and a grilling area with a small gas grill. The sunroom is winterized during winter months and closed. The home offers two bedrooms and two full baths, plus another half bath. The large master bedroom has a king bed and comfortable Casper mattress. It also offers a beautiful sitting area by the window to enjoy a morning coffee or to simply relax on the rocking chair and watch the village life go by from a distance. The guest bedroom offers a beautiful primitive full size bed with curtains. The home provides a sophisticated and country elegant living atmosphere with plenty of formal and casual living spaces. While the home is designed for four people, an extra inflatable mattress, which can be used in the master bedroom or in the den, allows for occasional additional guests. But honestly, the house is designed for four and maybe small children, by choice leaving plenty of sitting and lounging spaces. The fully renovated country kitchen comes complete with state of the art appliances, all cookware, most basic ingredients and a refrigerator stocked with essentials in order to make your arrival comfortable. You will find a wide selection of teas, coffee, maple syrup, pancake mix, spices, condiments, etc etc. Silver flatware, antique knives, antique china and primitive cast iron dishes are carefully hand selected, completing an authentic country kitchen feel. It is fully equipped and we warn you that it will tempt you to go gourmet. We have nationwide long distance available on the landline available in the house with cordless units. Please, no street shoes, no pets and no smoking. We have home slippers available for use during your stay. Please do not place the antique cast iron and nonstick cookware in the dishwasher. Help us conserve energy by managing thermostats down in the winter when not in the house. Please Most of out furniture is leather and high end fabrics, please take care with liquids and spills.
