Description
This quintessential & historic cottage is located at the end of Breakers Avenue in Neskowin Village. It was renovated with an ideal balance of higher end features & cottage charm. At just over 1,000 sq ft this cottage's 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms can accommodate a total of 6 guests (4 ADULTS MAX). Fondly known as "The Bath House" among locals, this cottage was originally built in the 1920s as a public bath house for beach goers & was converted to a private residence in the 1940s. The space LAYOUT The cottage is just over 1,000 square feet. The kitchen, dining & living areas are to the left upon entering from the back (the main entrance), and the two bedrooms are to the right and are connected to each other (no hallway). KITCHEN & DINING The kitchen & dining are combined into one space, and the dining area features a built in bench and table that comfortably seats six guests. The kitchen is well designed to maximize space and includes standard appliances such as coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and blender. The kitchen is also decked out with a selection of gear not typically found in vacation rentals: Le Creuset baking pans & dutch oven, All Clad induction pots & pans, Crate & Barrel dinnerware, Crate & Barrel silverware, Wusthof knives, Williams Sonoma stemless wine glasses & Pottery Barn acrylic tumblers and coastal themed serving ware. A limited selection of spices, seasonings, and condiments are available for guests as well. LIVING ROOM The living room connects the dining & kitchen end of the cottage to the bedrooms, and even has an authentic porthole interior window. The living room has a double sided wood burning fireplace with hearth, a comfortable Pottery Barn sectional couch & Roku TV (no cable channels - bring your logins for your favorite apps). BEDROOM #1 - PRIMARY SUITE The primary suite has French Doors opening onto the front patio, an attached laundry room, and small en suite full bath with tub-shower combination. This bedroom features "bat & board" walls and a sloped ceiling. You can open the French Doors and hear the ocean waves. Originally, when the primary suite was added in the 1960s, the only access was from the exterior. However, when it was renovated a small door was added in the corner of the nautical bedroom which provides interior access directly to the primary suite. This door serves as the only interior entrance to the primary suite, and measures a mere 17" wide. Guests are welcome to lock this door and exclusively use the exterior entrance if preferred. If guests prefer interior access to the primary suite, it is only accessible by walking through the nautical bedroom's skinny door (there is not a traditional hallway). The primary suite has a king bed & twin air mattress for children, as well as a Roku TV (no cable channels). BEDROOM #2 - NAUTICAL BEDROOM This bedroom features a vaulted ceiling, nautical chandelier, and pendant lights over the bed. This bedroom has a king bed & small pull out loveseat for children. The remodeled full bathroom is located in the back hallway just outside of the bedroom, and includes a shower which is hiding the original cement base under new tile, from the days when Breakers End was the village's public bath house for beach goers. The mini alcove seen in photos is not typically accessible to guests without advanced request for ladder & is not intended for sleeping - liability release & adult supervision required. DECK Breakers End has a large deck on the back that is approximately 600 sq ft and gets great sunshine! It has outdoor seating for both lounging and dining, as well as a charcoal bbq & propane fire-pit table. The deck also features an outdoor shower - perfect spot to wrap up a day at the beach! Note: outdoor cushions are stored during wetter months (typically Nov-April). The deck is open to the fully fenced backyard on the west side. There is a cobble stone pathway wrapping around the cottage, and there is a wood burning fire pit in the back of the fully fenced backyard. Guest access Lockbox key code will be provided 1-2 days in advance.
