Welcome to the Cuyuna Wattage Cottage! We built this ultramodern cabin to be an energy-efficient retreat for you to enjoy after biking, hiking, snowmobiling, or otherwise exploring this beautiful area. You’ll love viewing a sunrise through two story windows in the main living space or warming up by the fireplace. Located a 1/2 mile away from the Cuyuna mountain bike trail system Yawkey trails. 1/2 to the beach, 2 mi. to Crosby. It is the only house on the street, on seven acres. Great privacy! The space The Cuyuna Wattage Cottage is very unique. It is a proof-of-concept for how homes might be built 50 years from now. The walls were pre-made by a giant styrofoam cutting robot from Switzerland. They are about one foot thick. There is no furnace or duct work, heat radiates from the floor instead. The huge windows and overhang were designed to heat the home in the winter but not in the summer. Guest access The entire home is yours to use. The mechanical room is the exception, there is high current in there and should not be entered as it is dangerous. No pets are allowed. Reservations are open on a rolling window. Other things to note The cabin is located on one of the tallest hills in the area which makes a 4-wheel drive car helpful for access in winter. The top of the world views from the cabin are worth it! The hot tub is outside on the deck and will be running from September to May. It is drained during the hot summer months. High speed Internet is provided by StarLink, a division of SpaceX. Please drive slowly on Getaway Circle to reduce noise and dust for our neighbors.
