Beck Cottage, Troutbeck Bridge, Nr Windermere

Beck Cottage has been totally refurbished in 2022 It is a traditional, two bedroom Lakeland stone cottage, dating from the mid 1800's. It is centrally located within the Lake District National Park at the foot of the Troutbeck Valley in Troutbeck Bridge making it the ideal base for visiting the lakes, fells and villages of the National Park and the wider Cumbria area. The space There are two bedrooms; one king bed room and one twin bed room. Both bedrooms share a shower room (sorry no bath). There is a separate dining kitchen and a cosy lounge with a cast iron coal effect gas stove. The kitchen is equipped with electric built-under oven, gas hob, integrated dishwasher and refrigerator including freezer compartment. Please be aware that there is no washing machine. The cottage has the added bonus of private parking for two family sized cars. There is a small garden at the rear with lawn, patio area and table and 4 chairs. To the side of the cottage is a large lawned garden area for guests' use. Other things to note Beck Cottage is unsuitable for wheelchair access. Beck Cottage is a 160 year old stone property with the staircase to the first floor being steeper than it would be in a modern property. If you have severe mobility issues you may find this cottage unsuitable. The external access to the property is via 2 steps at the front and is a very low single step at the rear. Access to the patio is via 2 steps but there is a large side garden with level access. In the cottage, the House Manual includes useful information about the cottage, food shops in the area and also includes information on attractions/places to visit and local walks. There are also guide books and a map for visitors' use. There is no EV charging point at the cottage and EV charging via the domestic supply constitutes a fire hazard and therefore is not allowed. There are charging points in the locality - please message the host if you require details. Storage of e-bikes and e-scooters is not allowed in the property as this constitutes a fire hazard.
