Gîte de Font Bénite - SAINT-ANDRÉ-LA-CÔTE
Lean back against the balcony of this gîte and enjoy the exceptional view over the Coteaux du Lyonnais, the Rhône valley, the Ain plain and, on a clear day, the Alps and Mont Blanc. At an altitude of 830m, south-west of Lyon, in the Mornantais region, this gîte is located just outside the village of St André la Côte, along the small dead-end road to Font Bénite: the starting point for a number of hiking trails that criss-cross the village, including the GR7 and the climb to Signal (950m), the highest point in the Monts du Lyonnais. Originally an old barn built entirely of local stone and adjoining other farms that have also been converted into holiday homes, this gîte has been tastefully renovated by its owners (3 sisters), who were keen to preserve this family heritage inherited from their grandparents and parents. Ground floor: well-equipped kitchen (with dining area), WC, utility room (washing machine and tumble dryer). First floor: 1 large family bedroom (4 single beds including 1 bunk bed) with en suite facilities (bathroom, separate WC), hallway, large lounge with balcony, fireplace and TV. Fibre optics are installed in the gîte. On the 2nd floor: a large hallway opening onto 3 attic bedrooms (2 single beds in each), shower room, separate WC and leading outside to a small private garden of 50m² adjoining and shaded (not enclosed) at the rear of the house, with garden furniture, 2 deckchairs, table and bench for children. A charcoal barbecue is available. For your convenience, a small utility room can be made available on request (for storing equipment such as two or three bicycles). A boules pitch and picnic area are just 30m away for friendly aperitifs. It is easy to park in front of the house (one space), or just next door (10m) or in a small car park 40m away.
