The Hideaway

This sweet hideaway is nestled in the historic heart of downtown Hays! This little hideaway is surrounded by rich history as it sits in the historic district of Hays. Built in 1918 as a hotel, Luke and Julisa Haines renovated it in 2015 wanting to preserve the history of this building as much as they could while adding to it its modern amenities. If these walls could speak oh the stories they would tell. The Hideaway has the charming feel of a modern farmhouse with a timeless feel among modern appeal. You can have the comfort of having a cup of hot coffee right at home or walk the short distance of going downstairs to enjoy the amazing atmosphere of Breathe Coffee House. This loft offers everything you could want, you may not want to leave. The kitchen is fully equipped with all up to date appliances, a Keurig, washer, and dryer. The jack and jill bathroom is so convenient as it offers separate sinks. Each bedroom offers luxury bedding for the good night sleep, and also comes with plenty of closet space in each bedroom. There is private access to the apartment and also a fenced in backyard space for reading, drinking coffee or hanging out. In addition to the two bedrooms, our guests have the option to use a air up mattress to be put in the living room. Luke and Julisa have enjoyed raising their children and now grandchildren in Hays. Luke is a graduate of FHSU and small business owner. Julisa is the family coordinator. They love Jesus and family, and take time out for fishing, hunting, and horseback riding. The Haines love being outdoors and with each other! This little hideaway is in the perfect location to make you feel you are in the heart of everything. Located right along main street, this will give you plenty of options to keep you busy. Go across the street and enjoy the vibe of Tiger Burger or grab a coffee and conversation downstairs at Breathe Coffee House! If you like to get creative, The Niche is located right next door. If you like history Ellis County Historical Society is right across the street and for fun in the sun, Hays Aquatic Park is 2 blocks away! So many options to list and all the shopping your feet and checkbook can endure!!!
