DITZUM is strategically located, right on the Ems, at the entrance to the Dollart with a car ferry connection over to the other side of Emden. Good water location and fishing options. In the village, there are: bike rental, tea rooms, harbor cafes, restaurants, fresh fish and seafood sales, cutter rides, passenger ferry to the island of Borkum, Solebad in Nieuweschans (19 km). The place is good for hiking and biking trips (including the German ferry route and also the international dollar route). Excursion destinations include Emden (12 km), Leer (15 km), Papenburg with Meyer-Werft (40 km) or Groningen (70 km) with worth seeing old town.
