Located just outside Idaho Springs & close to the ski areas, you’ll love the boundless views & privacy of this rustic Rocky Mountain cabin w/2 private fishing ponds & 50 acres to explore. Pets allowed with prior Host approval and pet fee paid. Skiing super-close & snowshoe right out the front door. Wood stove, central heat, kitchen, 2 bdrm & 1 bath. Sleeps 6 all at the foot of majestic Mt. Evans. The following are not allowed: NO CAMPING OF ANY SORT, no ATV’ing, & no discharging of firearms. The space Guests will have access to the entire cabin plus recreational use of 50 private wooded acres at the base of Mt. Evans and the Hell’s Hole rec area @ West Chicago Creek. The cabin sleeps 6 in two bedroom plus a new sleeper sofa. The turn of the century cabin features a bathroom, kitchen, washer & dryer, family room with television & WiFi, and wood stove plus central heat ~wood is provided! Enjoy a campfire & toasted marshmallows next to the pond while under a billion stars, a morning snowshoe around pond up into the Aspen grove, and super-close proximity to 9 world-class ski resorts including Echo Mountain ski/board/TUBE just 14 miles away, Vail, Breckenridge, Copper, Winter Park, Loveland, & A-Basin! Guest access The Moose Jaw Cabin on the Pond sleeps 6 comfortably in 2 bedrooms plus a new sleeper sofa, and it features a kitchen, wood stove (wood provided!), updated bathroom, & laundry on-site. Highlights of your trip will be fishing on the 2 private ponds, the lovely deck from which to stargaze on 50 private acres, and the serene area that is West Chicago Creek. Choose to explore at the Mt. Evans Wilderness area, including the majestic Hell’s Hole hiking trail, just a short 2 miles up the road. Outdoor recreational opportunities abound including wildlife viewing, fishing, and peaceful solitude shared with 1 other mountain guest cabin. Be sure to stop in the Idaho Springs Visitor Center and the USFS station for information on trails and outdoor opportunities. Other things to note 1. This property is outside of ‘normal’ cell tower range. Please come prepared with directions & house rules in-hand as you may not have service once you arrive at the cabin. Just a few miles away is the town of Idaho Springs with a grocery store, plenty of excellent restaurant options including breweries and distilleries with eclectic dining options, mountain saloons, shopping, museums, and so much more. But while at the Cabin, be prepared to power down. WiFi is available when you check-in. Basic tv options are available. 2. By booking the Moose Jaw Cabin on the Pond, you acknowledge that this property is in a high alpine environment which means certain risks could accompany your stay: you could vacation during a major Rocky Mountain snow storm; you must have proper footwear available for the environment; there is natural wildlife on the 50 acres of land including mt lions, bear, mice, fox, moose, and much more; there are two ponds and you agree to hold Owner and Realtor harmless from accidents that occur during your stay. NEVER walk or ice skate/ice fish on the ponds while frozen - it could be thin ice and injury or death could occur. No swimming in fishing ponds. 3. There are two active guest cabins on this property. The 50 acres may be shared by others. 4. NO CAMPING OF any sort permitted; ABSOLUTELY NO RV’s ALLOWED, NO SLEEPING TENTS OR POPUP PARTY TENTS. NO PARTIES OR EVENTS. THE CABIN IS CAPPED AT 5 total people including children. NO HUNTING, FIREARMS, SHOOTING, TARGET PRACTICE, AND NO ATV’ing. THERE ARE EXTERIOR CAMERAS AT THIS PROPERTY. You will be asked to leave immediately without refund if you break these rules. 5. Pets are allowed with prior host permission. You must disclose the type and number of pets prior to booking. The fee quoted is PER PET, not one fee for all pets. So if you bring two dogs, the cost is $400 ($200 per pet for the stay). No exceptions.
