This quiet and central 2-bedroom home is just 2 min walk to a safe, swimmable beach 🏝, 5 min walk to local restaurants 🍛, and 7 min walk to the Gandoca Wildlife Refuge 🌿. Enjoy an outdoor kitchen with pizza oven 🍕and grill, rare tropical fruit trees 🥭, comfy hammocks, and wildlife in your private garden paradise 🦋. Relax to the sounds of the jungle and enjoy cool breezes throughout the day everyday. The space Caribbean Sweet is a spacious 2-bedroom home designed for comfort, relaxation, and tropical living. The house features a full indoor kitchen, large bathroom, multiple porches, and plenty of space to enjoy the Caribbean breeze. 🛏 Bedrooms Master bedroom: King bed, large closet, quiet desk/workspace, and a private porch with a two-person seat. Second bedroom: Full bed, wardrobe, dedicated desk, and access to a porch with two hammocks and outdoor seating. Extra sleeping space: The living room has a large couch that can serve as a third bed. 🍽 Indoor & Outdoor Kitchens The indoor kitchen includes: Full stove Large refrigerator Plenty of counter space Swinging window that opens to a bar counter on the porch You can also cook in the outdoor kitchen, complete with: Wood-fired pizza oven BBQ grill Outdoor dining table and seating 🚿 Bathroom & Laundry The bathroom is spacious and includes a large shower, ample storage, and a sink with mirror. Fresh towels, soap, and a hair dryer are provided. Behind the house, you'll find a laundry area with washer, spin dryer, outdoor sink, and a private outdoor shower—perfect after the beach. 🌴 Outdoor Space & Garden The yard is filled with rare tropical fruit trees and has plenty of room to walk around and enjoy the surroundings. The back porch faces the jungle with an expansive view of the forest, where you can watch birds, monkeys, and other wildlife right from your hammock. 📍 Location & Parking The house is in a quiet part of Manzanillo but only a 2–3 minute walk to the beach and close to restaurants and shops. Two private parking spaces are located directly behind the house. Guest access Guests have full access to the entire bottom floor of the house, including all bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, porches, and the garden area. The only areas not accessible are a small storage room and the greenhouse located in the back. We live on the top floor, which has its own private entrance via an exterior staircase, ensuring you have complete privacy during your stay. Other things to note Manzanillo has a rich Afro-Caribbean history, and this quiet, friendly village is a peaceful escape from the busier scene in Puerto Viejo. Many visitors enjoy the beach during the day, but nights here—especially around Caribbean Sweet—are calm and relaxing. You may wake up to the sounds of parrots, monkeys, and jungle wildlife, which are part of daily life in this beautiful coastal community. Manzanillo is home to English-speaking local families who have lived here for generations, giving the area a unique cultural charm found nowhere else in Costa Rica. A great experience for nature lovers, foodies, and anyone curious about the plants of Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast. 🍲 Caribbean Cooking Class (Run Dun Stew) — $40 per person Learn how to prepare traditional Run Dun coconut stew, a beloved Afro-Caribbean dish. We gather fresh ingredients from the garden, crack coconuts, and cook over fire while sharing the history and culture behind the recipe. You’ll participate in every step and enjoy the meal together at the end.
