The large "dune deck" offers an unparalleled view of Jockey's Ridge State Park. The Sound shore near Toad Hall is a great place for kids to play and for parents to relax. The shallow sound waters don't have the currents and waves of the ocean and we never have "red flag" days! The sound is also excellent for sail boats, kayaks, kite boards, paddleboards, or just about any type of personal watercraft. Plus your pets can enjoy the calm shallow waters. Jockeys Ridge State Park is 500 acres of natural open space preserving the East Coast's highest sand-dune. The dunes offer abundant wildlife, spectacular views, hang gliding, and kite flying.
