Our guests sometimes have little ones who want to wade in the shallow brook at one of our parks. Both river parks are just minutes away by foot or car. We provide a key to both parks and a wagon to get supplies to your private river frontage in front of the house. You can also take your group in your vehicle and drive into the parks. Literally less than one minute by car to either car gate; less than a five-minute walk. One of our four bedrooms is actually a large loft. You may bring blowup mattresses or sleeping bags for extra people for a total of up to 10. Guests need to supply the blowups and linens for any blowups you bring. We do have extra pillows. We're 3 1/2 miles to downtown Wimberley; four miles to Market Days, which is the first Saturday of every month. You'll have access to your own private river frontage, kayak ramp, and kayaks. You'll have a patio exclusively for your group at the water's edge. In addition to our frontage, there are two river parks. We provide a key to two neighborhood parks that are a two-to three-minute walk in either direction of Laura's River Lodge. One of these parks is so neat because it's shallow and flows and is fun for the kids! With our tubes, parents can let children float downstream to the other parent. Kids love this! We don't own the rope swing, but it's across the river and sure is a lot of fun. It's located in the large park (east of the Lodge). You can see people enjoying this swing from Laura's River Lodge. People can swim from Laura's river patio or take their tube or kayak over there. Be sure to get your life jacket on before swimming over there. The other smaller park is in the other direction (west of the Lodge). Both river parks are walking (or swimming) distance, and you can also drive, they both require a key to enter, which we provide. See our map and photo in the notebook onsite. These parks are perfect for hiking and discovering million-year-old crustaceans and other fascinating features. You'll be walking where the river once flowed mightily. The larger park has concrete steps at the far east end of the park where you can walk into the river, right into shallow water. It's great for small kids and the elderly who want to get in the river easily. We have a small neighborhood pool, as part of our HOA. The key we give you for the park gates is the same to get into the pool. The pool is only open June, July and to mid August. The reason for no water or ice in the fridge is because of guest abuse. We finally gave up on trying to provide this for our guests and ask that you bring in a bag of ice and put it in the freezer below the fridge and use our filtered water which is at all faucets. PLEASE RING MY TELEPHONE IF YOU NEED SOMETHING AND I HAVENT ANSWERED YOU IN THE MESSAGE THREAD. We're looking forward to your stay! It has a patio with ladder and is the closest private property to the rope swing and adjoins the 5-acre park that you'll also have access to. airbnb.com/h/ramsayshappyplace No smoking indoors or anywhere there is sheetrock, including under the house.
