Description

LaCalata is a contemporary design rural loft located in Calatañazor, a small medieval town in Soria declared a National Historic-Artistic Site It is distributed on 3 levels, access floor with kitchen-dining room open to the living room by glass where the 8-meter fireplace that presides over the house is located It has 3 bedrooms with a separate bathroom and a maximum capacity of 7 people Each room is different, the main one with glass floors, will not leave you indifferent The space Imagine walking through a medieval village that looks like something out of a movie, peering through the door of a house and contemplating the interior of a New York loft. Is that possible? Yes, that's LaCalata. A 4-star country house, cover of ELLE DECO No. 74, featured in SPEND IN Magazine Oct. 2012, located on a narrow cobbled street in a quiet Soriano village, this traditional-looking house hides behind its centuries-old facade a wealth of ingenuity and modernity. LaCalata is distributed on three levels, with three rooms each with its own bathroom. The kitchen-dining room is located on the ground floor, bordered by glass enclosures that provide visual continuity. This is a spacious area, open in its central part to the two upper floors, in which its stone walls, the light staircase, and a slender fireplace that rises like a silver monolith stand out. On the first floor is the bright master bedroom, La Buitrera, which is accessed by a walkway and seems to levitate over the living room. Here, the light tones of the fabrics blend with the warm tones of the local pine wood, thanks to the delicate light that filters through the irregular hollows of its unique wall, inspired by the idea that the architects Herzog & De Meuron used in the Dominus winery in Napa Valley in California, consisting of a metal lattice that functions as a kind of stone basket, with varying degrees of transparency to provide luminosity. As in the rest of the rooms, glass also plays an important role in this one. From the glass floor you can see the terrace of the lower floor, overlooking the canyon, physically delimiting the space and turning it into an ethereal glass "box". Across the staircase, on this same level, is Belle Époque, which overlooks the main street, where intense colors contrast with cement and wood. The upper floor is occupied by La Buhardilla, a room in which a large skylight reveals the Castilian sky, and antique period furniture is confronted with original frescoes by the Madrid artist Javier Abad in another display of imaginative audacity. LaCalata is fully equipped, you will enjoy the complete house with all its spaces, its three bedrooms, its three full bathrooms, its eight-meter fireplace and the terrace where you can enjoy the views, the sound of the river and the birds. The tranquility, the magic............everything makes this house the place where time stops. Located in Calatañazor, a small town in Soria declared a National Historic-Artistic Site.
