Raffaello by the Duomo by Charming Italy Tour
Raffaello al Duomo by Charming Italy Tour
Description
What do you think about staying in a 17th-century building just 100 meters from the Florence Cathedral? The Bufalini Residence offers an incredible location, so close to the Duomo and the Accademia Gallery, with all the city's attractions within walking distance and shops, restaurants and clubs all around. In other words, we are in the heart of the city, close to everything!! The Residence, renovated in 2011, includes five apartments: Titian, Giotto, Raphael, Michelangelo and Leonardo. The space Apartment 'Raffaello' is located on the third floor of the building, next door to Apartment 'Michelangelo'. A modern lift serves all floors. Reserved to non-smoking guests, it is cheerfully colourful and it includes a spacious living/dining room with kitchen area, the main bedroom and the bathroom with jacuzzi tub/shower, for a total of about 60 square meters (apx 70 sqyds). The apartment sleeps up to 4 people, two in the main bedroom and two on the sofa in the living room, which converts into a double-bed. The kitchen is fully equipped with gas cooker, sink, dishwasher, oven, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, coffee maker, toaster and kettle – the wash and drying machine is in the hallway, shared with apartment Michelangelo. It goes without saying that the unit is fully air-conditioned (hot and cold) and has free wi-fi. Guest access Residenza Bufalini is located at 11-13 Via Bufalini. Thanks to its central location, it is generally not necessary to use any public transport to visit the city and its monuments, as they are all within walking distance. In addition, Piazza San Marco is the terminus of the tram (line T2) direct to the train station and the airport, while from Piazza Libertà many bus lines lead to Fiesole, Settignano and Piazzale Michelangelo. To reach the Residence from Santa Maria Novella TRAIN STATION, you can: - take a taxi at a cost of about €20; - take the tram: exiting from the track 16 side, take the T2 line towards 'San Marco Università' to the end of the line; from here continue on Via Ricasoli for two blocks and turn into Via Bufalini - it is literally 5 minutes; - take a walk of about 15-20 minutes: leaving the station from the exit at track 16, cross the tram tracks and take Via Cerretani and then Via Panzani until you reach the Duomo: continue along the left side of the church and then take Via de' Servi on the left and, at the first intersection, Via Bufalini on the right, up to no. 13. From Florence Peretola AIRPORT, the best option is the tram to the 'San Marco Università' terminal - from here continue on Via Ricasoli for two blocks and turn into Via Bufalini - it is literally 5 minutes. The taxi, on the other hand, costs about €30-35, directly to the Residence. From Pisa or Bologna, on the other hand, there are immediate connections to Santa Maria Novella Station from which to continue as indicated above. By CAR, it should be noted that the Residence is located within the limited traffic zone (ZTL); therefore the options are: – park the car in one of the municipal parking lots on the avenues around the city center at a daily cost of €15-20 and walk to the Residence; – arrive at the Residence by car and then park it in one of the private garages in the city center at a daily cost of €30-35; the garage will notify the authorities of the car to obtain permission to enter. Since Florence is not very large and driving around the center is not very easy, we recommend leaving the car in the garage and visiting the city on foot or at most by bus to Fiesole or Piazzale Michelangelo, limiting the use of the car only to possible excursions in the surroundings (Chianti, Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano, Vinci, Arezzo, etc.). Other things to note The entire apartment is for guests' exclusive use. Upon request, after-hours arrival and check-in are possible with advance notice and a small fee.
