Description

Experience the real eco lifestyle. Guests love that power and water are by sustainable sources on site whilst still offering modern comforts. Discreetly located in a corner of the field with far reaching views of Dartmoor You may see wild deer, other wild life and birds as well as amazing star gazing skies. A comfortable property with one king size bed and two sofas, living area, bathroom with walk in shower, basin and toilet , a complete kitchen with cooker and fridge. An ideal get away The space Stags View cabin is a perfect escape for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the countryside in an eco friendly structure. Step into the cabin, where on a winters evening a fire can be lit on arrival. The cabin is exclusively yours for your stay. From your king-sized bed, you will be able to watch the sun set over the valley, and watch buzzards flying over the field in front of you. If you are lucky, you'll see deer grazing, from which the cabin gets its stags view name. You will find all modern amenities in the cabin, mixed with up -cycled gems. My aim was to create a comfortable modern space within a rural structure and provide sustainable means of power , light and water, without compromising on facilities expected from a holiday home. All the materials used were to be of a rural Devon source, pre owned , up cycled and reclaimed . The walls are regency styled panelling made from doors with a wall of windows to the front capturing views of Dartmoor and the stunning sunsets. A beech floor from an old gym adds individuality to the space. The sitting area has comfortable sofas and a log burning stove with plentiful wood supplied to create a warm and relaxing atmosphere. A generous sized shower room with hot and cold water shower, plumbed toilet and plumbed basin add to everyday comfort. I provide freshly ground coffee tea and sugar and complimentary milk in the fridge. We deliberately do not have a tv in the cabin or WiFi. Outside and apart from the views is an outdoor dining area and barbecue space. I can provide a barbeque and charcoal for £ 10 ,or bring a disposable one with you. There is intentionally no vehicle access within 150 yards to maintain the wild feel to what is quite a unique experience, so parking is by the swimming pond. Infants are welcome, as are well behaved dogs. (please check with me first.) we make a charge of £18 for a dog guest payable at time of booking. payable on the platform or by secure payment link. If the dates you need are not available, why not check out my other listings Guest access Once on the property, follow the signs to ' Stags view ' and park in the purpose-built gravel parking area. I have intentionally ensured that there is no parking in the immediate area outside the cabin to preserve the seclusion and 'hideaway' aspects of the cabin. It also means that wildlife are much more likely to appear outside! I have installed motion sensor lights to help you in the dark, but you might find it helpful to use a torch too. Other things to note Stags view is very much a one off , off grid experience. comfort and the eco aspect are a large part of the cabin. Recycled materials are used throughout. In order to be able to offer this experience to all our guests, we have a low base price at at any time . Guests can then add from a priced menu of enhancements to suit their comfort needs. For example, extra wood above the wood provided for the log burner can be purchased by the bin load at £ 12 to give those guests requiring it , a higher interior temperature. . A long-time South Devon local, there is not much that I don't know about this area. A unique service I can offer is personalised Devon tours. Some of my most popular tours are spooky Dartmoor tours, taking in spots of ghostly happenings and Dartmoor prison and also child-friendly Dartmoor sightseeing trips, all with time for swimming and feeding the famous Dartmoor ponies. I charge for these trips at a daily rate and will be happy to tailor something to your specifications! Just let me know if you are interested. We do have 2 pets, but they are not allowed in the accommodation. There is Dottie the Dalmation, A loveable friendly playful bundle of fun. We also have a ginger tabby named captain Jack livingstone Stanley but you will be lucky if you can find him before he finds you.We do not have fenced garden areas for dogs, we expect guests to keep dogs within the area of the cabin or on a lead. All dog waste must be collected and left in the waste bin at the top of the drive .
