Sofia's Escape Apartment - Stafylos area, Skopelos

Perched on a sunny hill, inside the Natura 2000 protected area of Skopelos, Sofia’s Escape is a place you go to if you want to leave the world behind for a while. A place to get away from city life and back to nature. You could easily lose track of time here. The space LIVING and DINING - Cosy modular sofa (chaise longue) for sitting, sleeping and storage needs. It easily unfolds to make a single bed (80x200cm) for a 3rd guest, more suitable for a teenager or a child rather than an adult. - Dining table can comfortably seat 3 people. KITCHEN - Well fitted, the kitchen area in the same space offers quartz countertop with sink, and is equipped with full size fridge/freezer, glass cooktop with oven and extractor hood, microwave oven, kettle, toaster and coffee maker. - The kitchen faucet has a filter for good water quality and to avoid buying and transporting bottled water. - The cupboards are fully stocked with all the utensils, pots, pans and dinnerware you will need to make any home-cooked meal. - Complimentary staple items include: organic olive oil from our own trees, local herbs, salt and pepper, vinegar, filter coffee, and more. - Also, table linen, paper napkins, tea towels, dish detergent and sponge, shopping bags, etc. Included in kitchen cabinets, there is a clothes washing machine and complimentary washing machine tablets. - Your own flower pot, just outside the front door of the apartment, offers fresh garden mint (spearmint) to use as a culinary herb to make sauces or to accompany vegetable dishes, meat or fish. BEDROOM and BATHROOM - Queen size, accessible-height bed with anatomic slatted bed base. - Brand new, resilient, medium firm memory foam mattress (160cm x 200cm) with washable cover with zipper and protector. - Soft memory foam pillows (2 per person) adapt to the shape of your head and neck. - Air conditioner and portable fan. - Door and window, both with insect screens so you can leave them open for a nice breeze. - The ensuite bathroom has walk-in shower, hand basin, WC and laundry basket. - Our cotton linen and towels are home washed with care, dried under the Greek sun and hand ironed. PRIVATE BALCONY - Off the kitchen door, it is equipped with comfortable garden furniture to enjoy breakfast, al-fresco meals and wonderful views across the pine covered hills of Stafylos area. - You are protected from the sunshine all day long, since the parasols can be tilted. You can adjust the height of the parasols to perfectly suit the space. SHARED OUTDOOR AREAS - A few steps above your private balcony is a backyard with a BBQ grill shared with the owners. It's a great way to get to know them! There are charcoals at your disposal. Guest access - From the parking area at the entrance of the land, access to house is via a steep footpath of 80 meters length, and for this reason the owner will transport your luggage with his 4WD vehicle or by some other means. - The apartment is not suitable for elderly guests or people with walking difficulties, nor for infants and toddlers under 5 years old. Flat shoes are preferable, high heels can be left in the car. - From the asphalt road that crosses the island, access to the property is by private vehicle (car or motorbike) via a passable dirt road 500 meters long. - Please note that local taxi drivers do not operate on dirt roads. - Local car rental offices offer cars suitable for the rural roads of the island. Prior to your arrival, I can assist on renting a vehicle from our local agency at a reasonable price, if you wish so. For motorbike rental, a driving license is required. - If you come with your own car, we do not recommend a vehicle with vulnerable tires for dirt roads (very low profile and /or wheels). - Tap "Location" and then tap "Show more" for detailed information about the neighborhood and getting around. Other things to note - This apartment is the kind of place you go to if you wish to unwind, get away from city life and back to nature. - There is no TV here, no Wifi. You can connect to the Internet with your mobile data. - All windows and doors are equipped with functional, easy to use insect screens. - Although our permanent home is just above, the layout of the apartment makes it feel private, with a relaxing atmosphere, its own entrance and private front balcony.
