Townfoot Byre, Troutbeck is a beautiful bedroom suite in our 330 year old traditional Lakeland farmhouse. The house was built in 1691 and what is now Townfoot Byre would have originally housed animals. However, it has now been converted it into a charming and cosy bedroom suite with its own small kitchenette and bathroom. Spa, sauna, swimming pool and gym access at a local club is included, free with your stay. A 7Kw EV charger is available, if you're travelling in an electric vehicle. The space Townfoot Byre has it's own private entrance tucked away beneath a beautiful beech hedge and Acer tree. The bedroom has a luxurious king-size bed and solid oak furniture that provides plenty of storage space. It also has a 4k TV with Apple Airplay and Chromecast, so you can stream content from your own devices using the free WiFi. There is a table and chairs in the room and a view across the valley from the oak mullion window. On display are the original stone walls and ceiling beams. There is also a traditional stone staircase leading up to the luxury shower room. If you're not out in the evening experiencing one of the local restaurants, you can cater for yourselves in the small kitchenette, which is fitted with a full-size fridge, a microwave, small sink, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine and kettle. At the top of the stone staircase, the fully porcelain tiled shower room has a large shower unit plus a handheld shower. There is a towel rail, basin with storage, LED lighting and an LED mirror. IF YOU HAVE MOBILITY ISSUES - This is a 330 year old, quirky property, and the Byre has a steep stone staircase and a low doorway. Please ask for more details if you need. PLEASE NOTE. Sorry, candles are not allowed - Being a timber framed, 300 year old property with a lot of oak panelling, the fire hazard created by them means that the use of candles in not permitted. The property is equipped with smoke alarms that will trigger with candles. If you’d like to add to the romantic atmosphere, we can provide a pretty, LED light tower for a warm, cosy glow. Just ask. Guest access The Lakes has a good bus service. For those with a car, there is private, off road parking, with 7kW EV charging for electric vehicles. Other things to note A breakfast basket will be provided, containing: Cornflakes, granola, brown and white bread, conserves, butter, tea, Nespresso coffee pods, milk, sugar.
