The Goslings' Nest in Jay, New York (just outside of Lake Placid and 11 miles from Whiteface) offers 2 bedrooms with a king bed in each, 2 bedrooms with 2 twins in each (with two 5' mattresses under 2 beds for children), a full-size (brand new!) pull out sleeper sofa in the great room, and a bunk bed with trundle (3 twins) on the first floor. The mattresses and encasements, pillows and encasements, sheets and blankets (ALL provided) are also new! So comfy! Reserve NOW for 2025 and beyond. All reservation requests made 3/1/2025 or after, will be a 2 night stay minimum. Grazie The house is dog-friendly. Your dog will be exhausted from watching and listening to the 100s of chipmunks! He will need a vacation after his vacation. $25 per dog, per night. The first floor (driveway level,) is also an all tile space with a dog gate so that if you are going out and don't want to bring your doggie, you can keep him safe and happy while you are gone. No need to crate doggie nor the hassle of bringing the bulky crate! This area is also perfect for bringing in your non-motorized sports gear to keep out of the weather: bicycles, kayaks, fishing gear, ski boots and skis, luge sleds, on and on. These are the appliances: microwave, toaster, dishwasher, oven, drip coffee maker, full size fridge with freezer. There are plenty of pots and pans, dishes, tea kettle, and eating space for 16 (12 at the HUGE farmhouse table and four on stools (with backs) at the kitchen counter. One of our FAVORITE features of The Goslings' Nest is the HUGE floor to ceiling river rock fireplace, with a hearth deep enough to sit on while you enjoy some tea or chat with friends. Firewood provided, gratis. This is the perfect space to disconnect, slow down and enjoy the forest with friends and family. However, the high speed Wifi and Roku t.v. also provide you with all you need to work from 'home'. There is so much or so little to do in the area. We provide books and games. There are hundreds of hiking possibilities in the area, you can visit the Olympic sites, the Au Sable Chasm, and on and on. PLEASE don't hesitate to ASK us if you are looking for anything in particular or something out of the ordinary to do. We so LOVE all the adventures that are available. The upstairs full bathroom was renovated, and the main floor bathroom is also clean and lovely with the bright, knotty pine that is throughout the entire house. There are a full size washer and dryer in case you are an athlete, for instance, and come home cruddy. Ha! Please note the interior of the house has only spiral staircases. We do appreciate you taking the first step to enjoying your stay at The Goslings' Nest by letting us share our pride in this property and reading all of this. Any income we make from you staying here will help fund our 17 year old's training with Team U.S.A. She was selected and has committed to Team! Due to disrespectful (smoking) guests, there will be a $1000 fine for smoking. Our property manager and cleaning team will inspect the entire house and property. Other things to note There is a RING doorbell camera at the entrance to the house facing the driveway for your security. All sheets, blankets, pillows, comforters are provided. Do NOT bring any of your own bedding. Thank you. -Quiet hours are from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. (in respect to the year round neighbors). GRAZIE Total number of guests is 13 max. Infants, babies, toddlers DO count towards the guest total. All overnight guests must be on the rental agreement. $25 per dog, per night. Lake swimming in Wilmington just 8 miles away. Au Sable Chasm is 17 miles north. We ask you to leave your shoes on the first floor, and keep the main floor and top floor a 'shoe-free' zone. Grazie NO food nor drink (other than water) permitted in bedrooms/on couches. (Please) all food in kitchen and dining table to prevent mice! We don't have them and don't want them! Oil and Electric heat is Off Memorial day to Labor day. The fireplace is available and gets rhr house up to 74⁰! All firewood, etc., is provided. Thank you.
