The latter is a great place to enjoy the views out over the meadow and down towards the Ironbridge Gorge. Other things to note Ironbridge Nestled in a spectacular wooded gorge stands a monument to British industry – the world’s first iron bridge. Crossing the River Severn, it was completed in 1779 and opened to traffic in 1781. It became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986 and remains an iconic feature of Britain’s industrial past. The Ironbridge Gorge is known for being the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and has a collection of no fewer than 10 industrial and Victorian themed museums (such as the Blists Hill Victorian village) that make up the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust. Alongside the history of the Industrial Revolution, Ironbridge is also a bustling tourist town and has many pubs, restaurants, shops, and tea rooms. Broseley Just a short walk from the property is the market town of Broseley, The town has many shops from where you can stock up on supplies, including its own butchers, bakers, and local convenience stores. there are also many pubs restaurants and local attractions. Easily in reach by bus and car are the popular towns of Bridgnorth, Shrewsbury, Ludlow, and Much Wenlock.
