The Parsonage at Sweden How in Ambleside is a wonderful house for larger groups to enjoy the delights of the Lakes. It is a substantial property situated high on a hill overlooking the town from which guests can step into some the loveliest scenery in the area. It was built in the 1880s as the original parsonage or rectory for Ambleside and later divided into separate dwellings. The Parsonage comprises about half of the original building and has 7 double/twin bedrooms sleeping up to 14 guests. The space You enter the property through a spacious hallway with a wood burning stove and locally made pew ideal for storing coats and boots after your day on the hills. This leads through into a games room with pool table, a variety of games, a DVD player and TV that can be linked to games consoles. From here you can step into the conservatory, which gets the sun most of the day and is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The underfloor heating makes it cosy even in winter. The modern and luxurious kitchen is very spacious and a wonderful space to gather at any time of the day. It is equipped with all modern appliances (including two dishwashers) and a large range cooker capable of catering for 14 guests. There is a large feature central island unit, and ample refrigeration and freezer space. Just off the kitchen is the main dining area with a huge solid oak table, which can seat 14, and a wood burning stove. The lounge is just off the games room and also features a wood burning stove as well as a bookcase full of local walking and climbing guidebooks to help you explore the area. On the first floor there are 3 double bedrooms and 2 twin bedrooms. Three of these are ensuite and there is also a separate luxury shower room. On the second floor there is an additional luxury bathroom (with large shower cubicle) and two further bedrooms, one double and one twin ideal for children. To the rear of the property is a large well established terraced garden with lawns and seating areas that have beautiful views of the hills. Private Parking is available at the front of the property for up to 3 vehicles. Further street parking is available locally. Other things to note HOUSE RULES Please be aware that there is only parking for 3 to 4 vehicles at the most. The car parking area is shared with the neighbouring properties and cars must only be parked in the area indicated in the instructions. Additional vehicles will have to be parked elsewhere, mindful of local restrictions. Dogs are allowed at this property but the restricted from going upstairs on on furniture
