Description

Three historic storerooms in an 1852 washed huggage bin have been converted into a unique design apartment with all of the modern amenities. "The Yellow Cradle" on Old Lærdalsöri has been carefully renovated with details from 170 years of commercial operation incorporated into the interior. The apartment is located on the second floor, in the middle of the butter eye of the historic trading site with minimal walking distance to cafes, shops and experiences. You look straight down at the life of the old Øyragata (pedestrian street), which is also part of Kongevegen over Filefjell. The space The Yellow Cramp Arch is one of the four, famous cramp arches that line up in Øyragata on Old Lærdalsöri. Here, the famous merchant Jan Henrik Nitter Hansen had the land trade and his warehouse in the middle of the 19th century - in the middle of the main street in the trading town of Lærdal, where the Sognefjord met land and traffic went east-west on Kongevegen just outside the door. The second and third floors here were storage rooms for land dealer Hansen, who became among the richest in the West in the 19th century. Now the storage rooms have become a design apartment with the living room, the kitchen and the bathroom. As well as a large bedroom with time decor and a delicious double bed. The warehouse on the top loft has become loft with four beds. Up to 6 people can stay in the Yellow Krambua, which was completed renovated in June 2020. Old Lærdalsöri is an authentic trading place from the time when horse and carriage filled the streets and steamboats were lying and blowing at the jetty. The city is one of Norway's best-preserved wooden house towns. Now, from 1852, the Yellow Krambua may become your home here. Other things to note Here is real candy store (with homemade candy) just downstairs, there is a coffee shop just across the street, cafe on the sloping across the street, countryside with local food in the neighboring building, concept store in the other neighboring building, secondly used shop just above the square. And 170 cute wooden houses in all directions!
