Situated in historic Kalopanayiotis village, our lovely two-bedroom home is packed with amenities such as a fireplace, fully-equipped kitchen, garden, BBQ area, to ensure you have a relaxing and hospitable getaway. Hani Chrysomilou is a very private dwelling perfectly positioned between the upper and lower roads of Kalopanayiotis. From there, you can explore the village and the surrounding valley with a homey place to return to at the end of your day. The space We continue a 100-year-old family tradition. Founded in 1900, Hani Chrysomilou was an inn located in the rural Kalopanayiotis village, on the North slopes of Troodos mountains. It’s founder, Georkis of Chrysomilos, offered warm hospitality in his home to fellow travellers. His delicious food and ample supplies for the continuation of their journey made this inn a popular pit-stop. Camels and donkeys would spend the night in designated stables, providing a full-service experience. In 1945-46, when the first cars were introduced to the village, Georkis’ eldest son, Michaelis, also known as Kokkorotsos, bought a 10-seater bus with which he would transfer passengers and products from Nicosia, referred to as «Hora», to Kalopanayiotis and back. For additional income, he would transfer locals to nearby festivals. Over the years, Georkis’ sons, specifically Simeos, retrofitted the Hani, adding rooms that he would rent to tourists over the summer. The idyllic surroundings, immersed in the fresh air and deep within nature, were very popular amongst travellers who wished to relax or use the popular village sulphur springs to relieve pains from arthritis and other neuropathic conditions. Hani seized its operations in 1960. Today, in continuation with our family’s heritage, we have revived our grandfather’s Hani, known as Hani Chrysomilou, aspiring to offer our visitors the best, most genuine, true to our Cypriot roots, Marathasa valley hospitality.
