Welcome to the Sunset Chalet – your peaceful lakeside retreat! Set on over an acre of private land, this beautiful lakefront home features lake access, a private swimming pond, and trails to explore. Enjoy 2 kayaks, a canoe (summer use), and fire pits. Close to Greek Peak, Ithaca, and wine trails. Book early, we fill up fast! The space Welcome to our charming chalet-style retreat, nestled in a serene, nature-filled setting. This one-of-a-kind home, lovingly built by my father, offers both a private pond and direct lake access—yes, you get both! Enjoy the peaceful outdoors with two kayaks and a canoe (with life jackets), available for use during the warmer months (at your own risk). There's a dock by the pond perfect for swimming, and another at the lake where you can sip your morning coffee or enjoy evening cocktails while watching the sunset. For adventure seekers, a scenic 1-mile drive along a picturesque dirt road takes you to the north end of the lake, where you’ll find a unique, castle-like dam (crafted by my dad himself!). Enjoy berry picking, abundant wildlife, and all the natural beauty surrounding you. Inside, you'll find a fully equipped kitchen, a cozy loft bedroom with a spiral staircase*, and a semi-firm queen bed with a padded mattress cover**. There's also a small sofa bed available if needed. For wine lovers, a wine fridge will keep your favorite bottles perfectly chilled. Outdoors, you'll find a charcoal grill (please bring your own charcoal and clean up after use), an outdoor dining table, and Adirondack chairs for relaxing. Inside, the dining room table is perfect for meals, and a desk is available if you need to catch up on work. This unique getaway promises to refresh and rejuvenate you in every way! *Please note, the spiral staircase is narrow. **Some guests have found the queen bed to be on the firmer side. Guest access Welcome to my charming lakefront escape! In summer, glide across the lake with our provided canoe & 2 kayaks. Swim in the serene pond from the dock (local critters are shy, no worries)! Wander a scenic 1-mile trail to a stunning castle-like bridge & waterfall, handcrafted by my dad. Winter’s snowy path adds adventure. Please steer clear of the 2 private sheds; but reach out for any needs. I’m overjoyed to host you—come create unforgettable memories in this tranquil retreat! Enjoy your stay! Other things to note Message me to inquire about early check-in. If you like to eat healthily, and/or you enjoy adult beverages, make sure you stop and get these items as the closest big grocery store is 35 to 40 minutes away. There is a Wegmans in Binghamton, Ithaca, Auburn and Syracuse. And we have a wine fridge! There are a few small grocery stores within 7-15 miles, and I have those listed in the manual for you. Bring your own charcoal for the grill; there is firewood here for the fire pits (one by the pond and one by the lake)! There is a very fun place close by called DragonFyre if you like to visit distilleries. Just look up their name - they have a website. Willet is also home to a great hops farm (Willet Hops), and their brewery is not far away (Beer Tree Brew Co in Port Crane). They've added a nice restaurant in Johnson City, about 25 minutes from us. Cortland and Homer have some good restaurants (about 25 min). Greek Peak has Carvers Steak House-very good! There is horseback riding not too far away, but you'll need to contact them for their current schedule. Green Brier Farm LLC is in Bainbridge. Path of Life Camp in Port Crane is also an option.
