The chateau is situated within minutes of conveyance stores, roadways, bus, rail, airport, yet in a rural location off a two lane road. There is connecting air service from the US via Paris, Bordeaux, and London. World class golf course seen from top level of castle. This Medieval Chateau-fort dates from the mid 1200's and is near major historical attractions. Rural location, but very secure three acre estate surrounded by walls to 7 to 14 feet high. The chateau has been restored recently and offers all modern comfort in an attractive interior design which has carefully maintained the authentic features. Access to the entire chateau-fort, excluding lower vault level and attic space. Access also to the nearly 3 acre park all around the chateau. Your privacy is our utmost desire. You will have the estate grounds and chateau to yourselves. However, a co-host is minutes away, and available by phone or in person to arrange or provide any extra services that might make your stay more enjoyable. Many old world French aristocracy live in the vicinity, and some are titled as was the original owner of Bonnefont. Property is surrounded by rolling hills and open fields separated by rows of mature trees with occasional live stock, farm houses, and villas. Access to the chateau-fort is directly off a main two lane road that parallels part of the original feudal land grant, usually over 1500 hectors for seigniorial and baronial fiefdoms in feudal France and Scotland. Train station is 14 minutes from the castle to Limoges, roadway is minutes away, and 20 minutes to the international airport. Rail service offers direct service to Paris. Airlines offer direct flights to Paris, and London with connecting service to the US. There is bus service from Limoges to the many historic and interesting sights of Southern France.
