Welcome to your cottage on The Point! With the Otonabee river on one side and Little Lake on the other and Del Crary Park right across the water... You'll be in the heart of Peterborough and the Kawarthas. Have fun kayaking on the water! Take a quick walk across the Rotary Greenway Trail bridge to Downtown Peterborough and the Marina. Listen to live music each summer weekend from the yard or catch Musicfest Concerts - Or stay in East City and enjoy the nearby beaches, paths and brew pubs The space A relaxing lake vibe cottage in the city! Easy, breezy and relaxing, this home is bright and comfortable. Watch the Otonabee River go by from the living room sofa or front porch bistro set. You'll also see boats, kayaks, paddleboards, and joggers, bikers and walkers across the water. With a newly renovated and fully outfitted kitchen and a spacious back deck with loads of seating, the space is great for a night in, enjoying a delicious meal with a bottle of wine. (Maybe take-out from the Ashburnham Ale House?) Live music carries across the river from the Holiday Inn on summer evenings. This is also a great space to walk home to and relax after a night on the town! The open and very comfortable living room/dining room has a relaxing beach feel. The primary bedroom with a queen size bed and full bathroom complete the main floor. The second bedroom with another queen sized bed is downstairs, as is the third bedroom with a single bed and office space. The recreation room has a large sectional couch and TV with Amazon Fire Stick and Bell Fibe Cable. There is high speed internet throughout. A second full bathroom and laundry facilities are downstairs as well. There are lots of spaces in this cozy cottage to be enjoyed by your family and friends! Guest access Guests have full and private access to the entire house and yard, with parking for 3-4 vehicles. There are 2 kayaks with paddles, adult life jackets and safety kits, for your use. Note that we maintain the yard for you, as discreetly as possible. Other things to note The neighbourhood is just the best location in the city! You can walk across the Otonabee River bridge to many amenities in a matter of minutes: To walk to Downtown Peterborough just go out the front door and turn right, then a quick right again. Follow Edgewater Drive to the walking path. On the left you'll see the walking bridge. To the left of the bridge is: - the Riverside Grill & Gazebo and Holiday Inn (live music on weekends and smoked brisket every day!) - Liftlock Sightseeing Cruises - fun and informative! - The Lighthouse Grill - Del Crary Park; home of Peterborough's MusicFest featuring free concerts every Wednesday and Saturday evenings with some of Canada's biggest acts To the right of the bridge is: - Access to Downtown Peterborough shops and restaurants - The Silver Bean Coffee Shop (great coffee and a real Kawartha Vibe) - PeddleAndPaddle - Kayak & Paddle Board Rentals (if you need more!) - Millenium Park is home to Peterborough's festivals; Ribfest, Beerfest, Yogafest - and more! If you continue to walk along Edgewater Drive as it curves right (past the walking path) - you can get to Maria St. and walk through the park to Rogers Cove Beach (5 min) and farther along to Beavermead Beach (about a 15 min walk) with fantastic swimming and an outdoor gym. The Point is in East City, so not far from Armour Road that heads north, right to Trent University! Let's face it, anywhere in Peterborough won't take long to get to! Please make sure to visit the local shops along Hunter Street in East City; Peterborough's best butcher shop and bakery, shops and restaurants.
