Possum Cottage - a cosy farm yard experience

Possum Cottage is a three-bedroom classic quirky kiwi cottage, situated on our farm under the foothills of the Southern Alps in the South Island of New Zealand. It is simple and rustic, but comfortable.The small rural town Fairlie is only 8-10 minutes away from our place and has great shopping, restaurants and of course the famous Fairlie Bakehouse. Lake Opuha is a great local hotspot in summer for boating and water activities, while Mt Dobson or Roundhill are great ski fields to visit in winter The space In a farm yard setting, Possum Cottage is a fully self-contained cottage located 8-10 mins from Fairlie. It is situated on our sheep, cattle, deer & crop farm 5km off the Fairlie-Timaru Road (SH8). The views are stunning, and it is a relaxing place ideal for all travellers. Children love the farmyard animals and open spaces, with a highlight feeding the scraps to the pigs or chickens. Our farm has great walking and biking tracks, so if this interests you then please just ask. With a cosy open fire, and a newly installed heat pump, you will be kept nice and warm. The cottage is well equipped with lots of books & DVD’s and some toys for the children. Room 1: Queen bed Room 2: 2x king single beds Room 3: 2x bunks (single & single, and single & double) LINEN COST Please note there is a cost of $10pp for linen (sheets & towels), on top of the hire cost. Alternatively, you are welcome to bring your own linen. Guest access This is a working farm, so if you have allergies to animals, then unfortunately this place will not suit you. Our friendly pet dog Pepper is usually there to greet you on arrival, so if you are afraid of dogs, then this place will likely not suit you either. We also have farm dogs, who live close by. You are welcome to walk on the farm tracks, but please check with us first. If you go through any gates, please take note as to how they were chained and make sure you always shut them behind you. Please stay out of all deer fenced paddocks
