Fallen Leaf Lodge started as a mountain cabin, expanded in the 1970's, and was recently upgraded with modern finishes while retaining its rustic character. The home is situated on a half acre, we have a fully fenced back yard suitable for dogs. Our large 400 square foot deck is a perfect space to enjoy with friends and family. The town circle, hiking trails, restaurants, and shopping can all be reached in a short walk or drive. Fallen Leaf Lodge is our family mountain getaway. The furnishings and décor are all emblematic of the mountain town and surrounding areas. It's a comfortable space for relaxing after a day of hiking or a getaway with friends and family. The back deck features a "choose your own adventure" rocking chair selection, a viewing area, and a BBQ. Much of the décor has been with our families for years, was made locally, or was custom made for the space. Whether you are here for relaxing in the mountain air, playing board games, or getting cozy in front of the fire, we hope you enjoy the space as much as we do. The house is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, two-story home with ample parking. Two bedrooms and one bathroom are located on the ground floor, while a large master room and detached bathroom are located upstairs. You will find a shuffleboard table, work station with docking and comfortable reading nook upstairs as well. There is a large drive way and car port for parking, guests may park within the carport or anywhere in the driveway areas. The neighborhood is along a main drive through the community of Idyllwild nestled in the San Jacinto Mountains. The immediate area is primarily occupied by residents who live here full-time or seasonally. All of our neighbors are very nice people who enjoy the active days and quiet nights of a small mountain town. We have contacts that live local in case there is an emergency. When you’re looking for a fun getaway from southern California city life, the charming town of Idyllwild is the perfect place to go. Set among mature cedar, pine, and oak, and surrounded by rocky mountains, Idyllwild provides a place to relax and recharge. Breathe in the pine-scented air, wander through the friendly downtown, and hike as much (or as little) as you want. The town is easily drivable during the summer months. Fall through spring has the potential for snow. While the main roads are regularly plowed, when snow is expected, chains should be brought with you. Walking to the town circle is between 1 and 1.2 miles. A nice downhill walk of around 20-25 minutes. Trail heads for Ernie Maxwell, Suicide Rock and Taquitz Peak are within about 2 miles just north of the house uphill.
