The space Welcome to Dream House, a warm forest retreat set on top of the Gunks, surrounded by state land and quiet woods. This home was created for guests who appreciate a cozy atmosphere, natural materials, and thoughtful hosting. It’s a place to slow down, breathe a little deeper, and enjoy the simple pleasure of being in nature. Inside, the house feels calm and grounded. The living room centers around a wood-burning stove and a handmade L-shaped couch crafted by local artists. This is where guests settle in with tea, share stories after a long hike, or simply enjoy the stillness of the woods outside. Soft lighting and natural textures make the room feel warm at any time of day. The kitchen looks directly into the forest and is stocked with the essentials you need for simple, nourishing meals: high-quality cookware, salt and pepper, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and a selection of good coffee and tea. The dining table seats five to six and works just as well for shared meals as it does for quiet writing or slow mornings. Two bedrooms each feature premium queen mattresses and soft linens, chosen to support deep rest. A futon in the hallway adds flexibility for groups, and the handmade couch can also sleep an additional guest if needed. Every sleeping space is designed to feel gentle, quiet, and restorative. The bathroom has modern stone-look tile paired with warm natural wood paneling, giving it a rustic spa-like feel. We provide natural Puracy toiletries, incense, essential oils, and a humidifier to make your stay more comfortable. Throughout the home, you’ll find meaningful details—original art by Ilias Muratov, a curated library of thoughtful books, incense and essential oils, and small touches that reflect a lived-in, cared-for space. These are the things guests mention most when they describe what makes Dream House different from a standard rental. Two porches offer peaceful ways to enjoy the outdoors. The covered front porch is perfect for morning coffee, while the forest-facing back porch lets you sit with the trees, breathe the mountain air, or stargaze on clear nights. Nature is always present here—quiet, steady, grounding. Fast Wi-Fi makes it easy to stay connected, but the setting often encourages guests to disconnect and enjoy real rest. The house sits minutes from Minnewaska State Park, Stony Kill Falls, wineries, organic farms, small towns, and scenic backroads. Whether you spend your days hiking, exploring, or simply enjoying the forest from the porch, the home makes it easy to return to comfort. This space was created with care and intention, and we hope it feels that way from the moment you arrive. Dream House is for travelers who love cozy, nature-rooted stays; who enjoy quiet mornings, meaningful details, and the warmth of a real home. It’s a simple, soulful place to recharge. Guest access You’ll have full, private access to the entire house, including both porches, the cozy living room with wood stove, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, and two bedrooms. Parking is available for two vehicles directly in front of the house. We provide a unique access code before your stay, so you can check in easily at your convenience — no keys to manage. Other things to note Keyless Entry You’ll receive a personal code for the front door before check-in. No keys to carry or manage during your stay. Access & Winter Driving The house sits on a mountain, and while access is straightforward, not all roads are paved. In winter months, we highly recommend 4WD or AWD vehicles for safe travel on hilly or potentially icy roads. Wildlife & Water You're surrounded by nature — it’s part of the charm. You may see deer, wild turkeys, or hear owls at night. Insects are also part of the ecosystem despite regular pest control. The water comes from a private well and may have a slight mineral scent, but it is treated and safe to drink. A filtered tap is provided for drinking and cooking. Wi-Fi & Cell Service We offer fast Wi-Fi (200+ Mbps), but cell coverage may vary depending on your carrier. Most guests rely on Wi-Fi calling or messaging. Products We Provide The house includes natural body care products (Puracy), premium bedding, incense, coffee and tea, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper, and essential oils for the humidifier. Guest Interaction Our support team is available to assist with most needs, and we are always available for emergencies or personal support.
