Are you interested in lots of R & R with some peaceful hammock time? This is the place for you! Are you interested in starting a hobby farm or homestead? This is the place for you! Are you interested in learning a bit about goats, chickens, bees, or gardening? This is the place for you! Are you interested in biking & hiking? This is the place for you! Are you interested in stars & an endless night-sky? This is the place for you! Are you interested in unplugging & just living... Are you interested in reliable cell service or wifi? This is not the place for you! Our wi-fi usually/sometimes works and most cell phones will work if you walk up the driveway and down the road a bit. Some people might think of that as a negative. We think of it as a positive! Your peace and entertainment can come from our massive book collection, our indoor games and puzzles, our outdoor games such as horseshoes, corn-hole, Bocce, badminton, or from just swinging in the hammock and watching the chickens wander around. Are you interested in a pristine farm that looks like it could be a magazine? This is not the place for you! On certain days it looks amazing - other times not so much. It is awesome and fun but a work in progress (even after 20 years) and we usually have a ton of interesting projects going on. Do you want to always have all aspects of this farm available at ALL times? This is not the place for you! We have baby goats in Spring, fresh eggs available to you usually every day, at least one hive is usually available to peek into, fresh veggies usually May – October. However, this s an organic farm, so we never quite know what to expect. Changes and new opportunities are always right around the corner! When you are asking about booking, I can let you know what is usually around at that time. If you are really hard-core there are always fun chores available to learn about (or help with) – mucking the barn (and composting), painting or fixing fences, chopping firewood, feeding and brushing the horse, goats, pig, dogs, planning garden, planting garden, weeding the garden, harvesting, canning, you can always put on a bee suit and check on the bees, etc. You can also bring a tent (or borrow ours) and use our 17 acres of woods and pastures as a campground. Camping on our property is amazing - the only decision you have to make is whether to stare into your campfire or stare up at the gorgeous starry sky. You can use the cottage for cooking and cleaning up. Guest cottage, propane grill, pool (April-September), fire pit, pastures, woods, all of the animals are friendly and enjoy visitors giving them attention! We also run an “Air Bnb Experience” which is a 2 hour talk and interaction with all we have going on seasonally on the farm. You can get this tour free of charge if you are staying with us! This cottage is a separate house on our property so you may see us doing farm stuff and you are welcome to join us to socialize, learn and/or lend a helping hand. However, you can come and go without ever seeing us at all if you prefer. You can see our house from the cottage but not any of the neighbor's homes. We live about an hour north of Atlanta and an hour south of Chattanooga. We are in the corner of 4 lovely counties – Cherokee (us), Pickens, Bartow, and Gordon. We less than a 30-minute drive to some wonderful hiking trails, mountain bike trails, Garland mountain horse trails, and the Beautiful Backroads 100-mile road bike route. North Ga has many fantastic wineries. We do our best to try them all just so we can give you good suggestions! There are great places to go to dinner in Cartersville, Canton, and Jasper which are about 30 minutes away. We have an awesome guidebook with many suggestions and directions to all these places and many more in the general area. You may not want to go anywhere though. You can stay right here and hike some short hikes, ride bikes for miles and miles, walk in the pastures with our dogs, cats, goats, horse, donkey, and pig right out your front door. April – October you can swim in your own private pool. We have a ton of outdoor and indoor games as well. You can also bring a tent and gear as we have many pretty spots to camp in our 17-acre woods and pastures. You could just use the cottage for the facilities. WiFi and cell service can be spotty but we promise - you will not even miss it! If you need to work remotely Reinhardt University is less than 10 minutes away and has free WiFi in the community library. Our Wifi is mostly available for working but not 100% I am sorry to say that we can not accommodate children under 12 (insurance reasons with pool) and no animals may be brought to the farm. We have livestock guard dogs that are very friendly to people but their entire job is to keep other animals off our property.
