Lake House - 40 minutes from Ottawa (CITQ#304028)

Sit back and enjoy cottage life in the comfort of a lakefront home with cottage character. Situated on a private lot, on a pristine lake (Lac Rheaume), this house is located just 40 minutes north of downtown Ottawa. Enjoy very clean waterfront and deep swimming off the dock. Go for a canoe, kayak, paddleboard or use the rowboat to explore one of the lake's many islands. Relax in the beautiful screened-in porch or on one of 2 decks. Loon calls are common many nights! New in 2024 barrel sauna The space Our lakefront home has modern comforts, but still has real cottage character with a large stone fireplace, pine cathedral ceilings, hardwood and slate floors, and a cedar shake walled screened in porch overlooking the lake. Our full-sized kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster along with the standards of fridge, stove, dishes, pots and pans and most kitchen utensils to prepare meals. The cottage has 2.5 bathrooms. We have one 30' x 8' deck overlooking the lake and the other 12' x 12' with a medium sized propane BBQ at the back side of the cottage. There are 2 fire pits on the property. New in 2024 is an outdoor 6 person electric sauna. The waterfront dock area is a fun place to spend the day with deep, clean swimming that is over 20' deep off the end of the dock. Guests have use of a canoe, double kayak, single kayak, 4 paddleboards (3 full size and one for juniors), 14' aluminum fishing boat that can also be used as a row boat and life jackets. We have a sand badminton court up near the cottage area that people can also use to play fun volleyball (best with a beach ball.) We have a partially finished walkout basement with a bathroom, bonus 4th bedroom with double bed and open games area (with pool table/ping pong table, bean bag toss, and cards/board game table). The trade-off of to the spectacular high lookout views over the lake and deep swimming is a steep hike down to the waterfront. We would not recommend this property for people with very young children or with mobility issues. Guest access Full access to the cottage and property. Row boat, canoe, 2 kayaks, 4 paddle boards, life jackets and pool noodles. Other things to note There are approximately 15 public, uninhabited small islands on the lake to explore.
