Description
Benedict Haid Farm is a family-owned business open for the past 40 years. It features three historic 1860s hand-hewn log homes on 400-acres, adjoining 10,000 acres of undeveloped corporate property. The Black Bear Lodge was designed and built by the Barnwood Builders of the Magnolia TV Network. This is a nice place to get away for a while, or host a small retreat. The nearest commercial building is six miles away. The space A high quality, reassembled Civil War era, three bedroom and three bath house. It is located on a hilltop over-looking the Haid House, with a front porch that provides a panoramic view. The Black Bear is a mix of modern and historic, including a spacious well-equipped kitchen. Fireplace with gas starter and outdoor gas grill are there for your comfort. Ample firewood provided. Spacious parking lot and EV charging station. Guest access Guests have exclusive access to the home. There is walking access to a pond, Margaret's Pond, roughly .8 mile from the Black Bear Lodge. You will have access to the surrounding woods, Margaret's Pond, and the nearby farmland, if you want to make such arrangements. There is a cattle farm on the property that we can arrange for you to see. The newly-renovated barn is available to be rented for events, as well. It was renovated using logs from historic log cabins formerly located in the South Hills section of Charleston. Other things to note If you want to utilize the EV charging station, please let us know in advance so we can make sure it is easily accessible.
