Down a winding drive but 2 minutes walk from the village late shop and pubs Appletree cottage is easy; walk on footpaths directly to the South Downs National Park; Retreat in seclusion; or Indulge the village deli and artisan pizza shops or walk straight onto the hills. 3 pubs , 2 restaurants and a supermarket. Train 1hr to London, 10 minutes to Brighton Coast Idly view the Downs from the hammock. Washbrooks family farm 100m walk, play on the old Tennis court, bikes to borrow.. The space The country kitchen opens through to the living area where a wood burning stove serves both sides The property has three bedrooms but can sleep up to 8 people. There are two bathrooms There is an outside dining area which has a bbq and a fire pit There is a hot tub where you can relax and enjoy the views There is a Tennis court for private use It is a country tennis court so not in perfect court and not great for winter use (not for professionals) but a bit of fun , however if you would like to play tennis there are excellent courts a 2 minute walk away which can be booked before your arrival For details of club sessions, coaching programme, the club calendar, contacts and news, please visit HurstpierpointLawnTennisClub . Courts must be booked online on the website or using the ‘Booker’ app. You can book a court through Frankie login and you would need to sign the visitors in (for insurance purposes) and pay the guest fee £5/player. There is a book in the club house and a tin to put the money in. I’m Guest access Access to the cottage is completely private. The drive is approx 300 - 400m from the main road There is parking for three cars . There is a gate which opens to a front garden Other things to note The cottage stands alone nestled on the foot of the South Downs National Park . A private gate which has a path that takes you to The village where you can enjoy various pubs , a pizzeria, Morleys restaurant The hop tub a vibrant local small brewery that serves food Hampers a Deli (where Bob sells a selection of delicious deli type foods and has lovely take away meals ) Opposite the drive there is Washbrooks farm which is a real hit with Children . You can drive into Brighton within 15-20 minutes or if you prefer you can park the car in hassocks station and the train will take you there in 10 minutes There are plenty of local vineyards one can visit Aulbourne estate , court garden in Ditchling , Ridgeview etc
