Summary: Camp lakeside beneath the dramatic view of the famous Shawangunk Ridge. If a quiet, tranquil getaway is what you are looking for this site is for you. This 7 acre private lake is shared with only two other homes and borders the Mohonk Preserve just 100 yards away. Access to the preserve requires a day pass if you are not already a member. (Information on hours, fees, and land use rules can be found at this link: https://www.mohonkpreserve.org/visit/hours-and-fees/) Children accompanied by their parents are welcome in addition to the 2 adult max policy. This site is ideally located to set up base camp, adventuring away from or to hang your hat and enjoy the sights and sounds without ever leaving. Access to the new Empire State Trail & Wallkill Valley Rail Trail systems is only 0.5 miles from the campsite. Heading 3 miles south on the trail will bring you to downtown New Paltz where you will find many local eateries, shopping and Historic Huguenot Street or on your way you can jump on the new River to Ridge trail that connects you to 70 miles of carriage roads and hiking/biking trails of the Mohonk Preserve. Heading North on the Empire State/WVR trail will bring you through the hamlet of Rosendale, up to Kingston, Hudson, and all the way to Canada if you choose to keep going! If staying put is your preference, the spring fed lake is stocked with large mouth bass, sunfish and other aquatic life. Boating, bathing, (the lake is 5 feet deep at its deepest), and fishing are permitted. There is a row boat for your personal use. The site is also within a few hundred feet of a 60 acre parcel of wooded land for hiking and exploring. Please inquire if interested. The Space: Enjoy a view of the Gunks as you camp lakeside. Guest Access: This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with land owners to offer unique accommodations in beautiful outdoor spaces. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature! Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed with a memory foam mattress. The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that’s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night. Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation. Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean. Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days. What You Should Bring: - Bedding/Pillows - Bug Spray - Firewood - S'mores supplies & any food you'd like to eat - A cooler to keep your grub from spoiling Other Things to Note: Help preserve the natural state of your site. Please leave it as you found it, (this includes sweeping out the tent and deck). This is a carry in carry out site, which includes taking all garbage and used tentrr loo bags with you upon checkout. Secure your food as not to attract wildlife. We love dogs and encourage you to share your camping experience with them. However all dogs must be leashed or on a run. There is a fee for bringing along your pup as well as a requirement to check in with the host about it before hand. Thank you for your consideration. Do not cut down trees on the property for firewood or for any other reason. Fireworks are not permitted. Hunting, nor the discharge of any type of weapon is not permitted on the property. Fishing in the lake is allowed with a valid NYS fishing license. Motorized boats are not permitted. Campers must be, or be accompanied by someone 25 years old or older. This is a quiet, residential area, please be respectful of your neighbors. Please keep your music and voices down at ALL hours so everyone can enjoy the peace and quiet. Fire bans happen occasionally in our area. The use of your fire pit or burning fires of any kind is not permitted during these events. There are no exceptions to our rescheduling/cancellation policies while the fire bans are active or in the case of inclement weather. **If the above guidelines are not followed there is a fee of at least $50. ** Bring your own sheets and blankets or sleeping bags. Propane is not included. If you would like to use the heater you must bring your own propane. Interaction with Guests: Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in. If a Tentrr Host submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the host's property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set! Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your confirmation email. Your Tentrr Host is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf, and they are unable to waive any cancellation fees (if applicable). If you have any questions regarding your reservation, Tentrr Customer Support can be reached at (888) 798-9093 or at hello@tentrr.com.
