Cottage in the Oaks is truly a dream cottage. Our goal was to make this cottage a restful, peaceful home away from home. We are nestled on 2.5 acres with multiple ancient Live Oaks. You will feel as though you are in a country setting but are only a 2 minute drive to the center of Historic Summerville, with multiple choices of restaurants, local shops and of course bars. Play pickleball? We know all the local courts and teams, we are happy to help you find a game! The recently renovated cottage has one bedroom with a queen size bed and the living room has a pull out sofa (foam mattress for comfort! We didn't want the person the got the sofa bed to have to suffer! Plus, we have a pack and play for little ones upon request. There is a full kitchen, full size fridge, microwave, gas oven and stove. Bring your food and we have the rest! We will supply coffee , sugar, cream and local tea from Charleston Tea Plantation. The one bath includes a full size washer/dryer (detergent included), hair dryer and other amenities available. (Towels and sheets provided) We have traveled extensively and are striving to anticipate our guests needs beforehand to make your stay with us as pleasant as possible. We would like our guests to arrive and not have to worry about having left something at home. If you are arriving late and need a few things, let us know and we will pick them up for you. Need items for small children? Don’t hesitate to ask. The property is a wonderful place to sit and read or wander around and look at the plants. Charleston and Summerville are known for their friendliness and hospitality, as you will experience, with the multiple dining establishments and tourist sites. Charleston is a Foodie town and we are here for any recommendations you may need. We love our town and all it offers. The cottage is half a mile to a restaurants and bars but you would need a car or Uber to go to downtown Summerville or Charleston. We are a 20 minute walk to the newly renovated Summerville Town Square. For business travelers, we are 15 minutes to Bosch, Air Force Base, Boeing, Cummins and 25 minutes to the new Volvo plant. The entire home and garden is for your use. Marianne and David are on property (separate home) and are here for as much or as little interaction as you would like. We both work locally and are here to answer questions on touring, directions or whatever you need. Want to have a cup of tea or a glass of wine, we are always up for that! Want to keep to yourself? That's okay, also. We are a text or a phone call away! the cottage is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood (most people in the neighborhood don't know we are here!) 2 miles from Historic Summerville. My opinion is you would need a car here, you do have restaurants and shops within a 10 minute walk but our public transportation is not great! Uber or Lyft is a phone call away though! Sawmill Branch Trail is within a 10 minute walk, which is a 14 mile walking, riding trail. The kitchen has a full size gas stove and is ready for you to cook your own meals. Amenities include, coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper, olive oil and more in kitchen Bathroom includes shampoo, conditioner, soap and hair dryer. Beach chairs and beach towels available (and a cooler)
