Description
The Industrial Loft Guesthouse sleeps 15+ and always welcomes 4-legged friends (dogs only, please). Well-known for its mid-century façade, and listed on the National Register of Historic Buildings, the 2-story, open-concept, industrial design pays homage to the building’s commercial history. The downtown location is ideal, walking distance to Winfield's eclectic downtown businesses and lovely Island Park. The space The guesthouse, accessed through the alley door, is almost 5,000 square feet. The open-concept, loft style design in the main area pays homage to the building’s commercial history, with ceiling fans, exposed HVAC , electric conduit, distressed concrete floors and iron beams. The chef’s kitchen is stainless steel, with restaurant double-basin spray sink, Viking range and Sub-Zero refrigerator. The bar and sideboard feature locally milled hackberry tops, hand-crafted shiplap and industrial iron. Adding to the feel is a custom chandelier in the dining area, an industrial skylight with turbine, and the “Cistern Chapel” – a two-story iron cistern from the building’s dry cleaner days that has been converted into a playhouse (or doghouse). The upstairs is a bright and sunny space once used as studios by local artists, and features three newly remodeled bedrooms, one with ensuite ¾ bath, a sitting area, and a full bath with hair washing sink. The efficiency apartment in the back of the property offers an additional master bedroom. The design features more exposed iron beams and period firedoor with counterweight. Guest access There are two offices in the front of the building (facing 8th street) that are not part of the rental. The rest of the space is accessible to guests via the alley entrance.
