This apartment is located inside the famed Kemp House. The Kemp house, circa 1938, is a Tudor Revival home, built for T.J. Kemp an agent for the Sinclair Refining Company during the 1930s. This large residence is noteworthy for its brick detail and half-timbering. Originally a single-family residence, it eventually because a boarding house in the 50s and 60s-renting rooms weekly. Later it housed retail stores, a coffee shop, and The Blue Heron Gallery. This space was used as an Art Gallery. The one bedroom apartment A, is on the first floor of the Kemp Estate. The apartment is about 775 square feet contains its own entrance, bathroom, bedroom, living room/kitchen, and private deck. The bathroom features a very large shower with three rain shower heads, a double granite vanity, fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and towels. The bedroom features a Queen sized bed with topper, a small smart TV, armoire, desk, sound machine, iron and ironing board along with an extra pillow and blanket. The living room/kitchen features a queen sized pull out sofa bed, two dining areas, a full sized refrigerator, a gas full sized stove, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and essentials like salt/pepper, oil, tea, coffee, creamer, sugar, etc. We do include a welcome gift of farm fresh eggs, and pastries to get you started on your first morning. The TV is a smart TV so bring along your login information for Hulu, Netflix, prime etc. If you don’t have a membership, each app offers free trials in addition to the other free apps on Roku and live TV tile on Roku. The front patio offers a gas grill, outdoor dining table, and outdoor furniture. The back deck is a private oasis with Edison lights, outdoor furniture, and two lounge chairs. There are two reserved parking spaces provided. **We offer one of the most affordable rates for a one bedroom within walking distance to the downtown restaurants/bars, shops, and entertainment. **There is no pet fee, no additional person fee, only a $50 cleaning fee. Guests are not asked to do laundry/cleaning etc. as housekeepers will take care of it upon check out. Each apartment is cleaned by professional housekeepers who are paid by the cleaning fee with no markup for the owner. **We offer great discounts for weekly and monthly stays. Guests have access to the whole apartment including a full kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and private deck. There is a shared laundry room on property. This apartment has reserved days of Tuesday and Sunday. Check in is available with smart lock. I’m available by email, text or phone. The apartment is a 10 minute walk through the historic district to the downtown square where you can enjoy dining, shopping, and live music. Art walk is the first Friday of each month from 6pm-9pm in the square. The downtown farmers market is held each Saturday from 9am-2pm We are located 9 miles from the new World Equestrian Center. Waking to downtown is about a half of a mile. The historic district is filled with amazing architecture to gaze at as you stroll down the street. A car is recommended for longer distances.
